When I was getting my hair cut this weekend, the stylist took me back over to rinse my hair. She asked me, "Would you mind if I gave you a Hot Towel?" I said, "Sure, as long as that's nothing like a Hot Carl."
Was I funny or rude?

So, here was her official reaction...
First, she is young (mid 20s) and very hip. I certainly wouldn't have dropped this on her if I didn't think she could take it. She even knew what it meant, so she's not that uptight. (If she didn't know what it meant, I could at least have dismissed it as me being stupid. Just based on the way it sounded when she asked me, it was too perfect of a setup to ignore.)
She just giggled and said, "No, this isn't THAT type of establishment! HaHa!"
I said, "Whew! Hot towel it is, then!"
