and Southerners just seem so busy and rude?

Why is That?

Well being a true blue-Northerner, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your keen observation on our manners and hospitality. However, I have a great number of my family members living in the South, and I do believe that they have taught me a thing or two.

But "Southern Hospitality" is a misconception, in my opinion. The belles may have the etiquette down, but the general public seems to have misplaced it somewhere between "I don't care" and "don't bother me, I am busy and you aren't important enough". Sad but true.

Sorry that you see things that way. My guess is that you haven't met enough of a cross section of people. There are great mannered people all over this country.

You lost the war, it was 141 years ago, get over it. We could care less what you think of our manners.

All that hot weather makes them cranky.
