i hate buying gifts but i like to give. i would rather give cash but have caught 3 shades of hades from friends/family when i do this. they say gift cards are more fun/personal.
i say the cards are a waste. CASH does not expire, CASH does not pigeon hole you into shopping at one store and CASH does not charge you a fee for having in your wallet for a while.
what do you think?

What would it take for the general population to stop being discriminate towards Muslims? A t-shirt saying "I AM NOT A TERRORIST" or always having to carry a Candian/American/British flag? What do you REALLY think would help people's negative views on Islam? (any comments that say things like "maybe they should stop blowing things up" or "Islam is stupid and full of suicide bombers" are pointless and irregardless, as only a very small percentage of so-called Muslims carry out these acts).

their best offer is going to be? I mean, if someone calls them and offers them $1200.00 are they supposed to leave their number so they can get a call back if they are the best offer? How long does someone normally wait before accepting an offer?

This is a social skill I would like to work on, please do not accuse me of being fake. Open-ended questions seem to be one way to feign interest, but I am not very good at asking those.

I didn't go to this particular function, but many of my co-workers did. Apparently the space in time which the food was served was too long, and the space in which the food occupied the plate was minimal. My co-workers also said the choice of background music was not to their liking. So a good chunk of the group basically took off and went to the pub. Is this proper ettiquette?

My boss is a 60 yr old man, likes to golf and loves expensive wine. I'm not sure what would be a suitable gift for the holidays to give him. I'm an admin. asst.
my coworkers who have the same type of job as me said they do not get their bosses anything for the holidays and I shouldn't "start" or else I'll be giving to him every year. But I do want to give him something.
Any ideas?

I am the guardian of a bad-tempered swan, who I require to attend a drinks party in Dorset, where it will be obliged to entertain some local dignitaries.
But it doesn't want to go, and I fear that forcing it will cause tension at the party.

My roommates and I are terrified by our neighbors, they scream and yell throughout the night, the cops show up all the time and today it appeared that their apartment was broken into. I want to talk to a manager about it, however I don't want to talk to a manager if they will tell our neighbors that it's us that have a problem with them because we think it might cause more trouble. Is there any law or anyway I can be assured they won't say anything because it's not fun living in an environment you are terrified at. Thank you
