Quarantine simply means that the puppy, or the person (because people are quarantined too) is kept in seclusion for a period of time to see if it has a disease. Or, in the case of people, to prevent someone with a disease from spreading it to anyone else. Quarantine used to be for a period of 40 days, but is much shorter now. It was once routine to quarantine a household where someone had the mumps, measles, chicken pox, small pox, or diphtheria. Yes, you get food and water when you are in quarantine. It just means you can't mix with other people.

quarantine means isolating someone or something, suspected of having a communicable or contagious disease, from the majority or its normal environment and is placed in another location. but they will still get the basic needs one has--such as food and water.and is only a temporary situation, until of course, the disease is cured, or if after some series of tests, finds you free from any virus/disease.
with the puppy's case this only means that it will be placed in a cage or it will be placed somewhere far from the baby, so it would not chew on her. and will be disciplined until he's able to be free near the baby, without anyone worrying the child being chewed on by the puppy. or if the vet may see another problem with the puppy.
hope this helps..lots of luck! Ã

Quarantine means that the puppy has been isolated from people and other dogs. This happens because they are afraid that the puppy might have a disease. In quarantine, the puppy won't have a chance to get anyone sick, and he/she can be observed to find out whether he/she is really sick. Yes, the puppy will get food and water while he/she is in quarantine. After having been in quarantine for a while, the doctor will decide whether or not your puppy seems sick or whether the puppy is okay. If the puppy is okay, it'll be released from quarantine.

I had to have my kittens quarantined one time.... because one of my kittens bit my cousin on her finger that already had an open cut on. So then my whiny ,drama queen cousin went to the doctor and said that my kitten bit her finger open - DH-EC came to my house and I had to quarantine them for 10 days
Basically when something is quarantined like this - the Health Dept just wants the animals to be kept where they can not come into contact with other animals - not even by accident - basically this is so that if the quarantined animal had rabies - it would be locked away for enough days that the rabies would "show" before it could come in contact with any other animals - and if your cat is OK in 10 days you can let them out again -
You can keep the animal in the house away from all of your other animals - or outside in a shop (provided it has shelter and heat)
you can still feed and play with your animals - in fact you are supposed to be watching them more carefully - -just wash your hands before playing with another animal after playing with the quarantined animal

quarantine means simply to say isolation removed from population
no outside contact of any sorts. but y would they separate the pup unless there was something seriously wrong with either the dog or the girl. but yes u r fed and giving water but depending on the severity they destroy every thing if it can't b cured sorry!
if you've ever seen the movie "outbreak" u would understand they were trying to isolate a bacteria that could kill. and it was highly contagious. i hope this help clarifies things at least a little
God loves and so do i

People, Pets or even plants can be quarantine or isolated from others to prevent possible spread of contagious disease. The quarantine is only temporary until the threat is past. Yes any one or thing quarantine is cared for and fed.
During the Black Pleg sometimes whole towns were quarantined and food would be left at the edge of town for them to pick up.
