Vaseline on your teeth! Sounds totally gross, but works. You have to smile SO much in a pageant, and if you're nervous your lips stick to your teeth and the smile isn't natural. So put a thin layer of vaseline on the fronts of your teeth, and smile away. Don't be afraid to be funny, either. Most girls in pageants are too pretty to be funny. Good luck! Have fun.

Is this your first pageant? This is so exciting!
The best advice I got was from my grandmother, who never assisted in a pageant let alone been to one. But she was a model for Coca Cola and she shared her bestest 'secrets' and so time to pass it on.
This one is crucial and a MUST: Be yourself and comfortable with yourself is very important.
Have FUN ALWAYS
I always believed that interview makes or breaks ones chances of winning; ever win I had I believe it was the interview that cinched it for me.
This one is from experience!!! Read the pageant guidelines for dress and do not break any of the stated rules. (Don't wear gloves when it says not to.......memory lane!!)
If you can; hire a seamstress. A little old lady up the street that is willing to do the gowns for you. So much nicer than going to the stores where everyone has the same type of styles. You save yourself tons of time by not going around shopping at all the different stores; call up "Lois" and tell her what you want/need and it somehow magically is done. Is it more expensive? I have found that price is sometimes about even; sometimes a steal but never over priced.
Thats all for now. If you have any questions for me personally just email me the link is on my Y! Answers profile
Good luck and remember, HAVE FUN!!!!

Assuming this is a beauty pageant, I think that beauty pageants are based on a bad premise. No matter how much they call themselves "scholarship contests", beauty pageants are based on the concept that women should be judged (at least in part) on their bodies. It's dehumanizing and objectifying. Don't base your self-worth on people's opinion of your body. You're worth more than that.

Don't compete. Pageants are like selling yourself like meat in a market for a silly lil tiara.

I was only in one, and I left early because I decided it was too much pressure. When it comes to the talent portion, practice and practice and practice, then do stretching exercises so you aren't too nervous. Good luck.

Preparation H on the bags under your eyes. Hairspray on your butt to keep your *** from eating your bathing suit.
...or so I hear.
