She doesn't stop talking and laughing at her own stupid jokes. What do I do? I don't want to be mean.

She doesn't seem so at first, but she litters (intentionally), she leaves her garbage laying all over in stores, etc. and she is a smoker who thinks that her husband not letting her smoke in their apartment is a violation of rights or something. Her parents are devout Christians, her father is a minister. I doubt they raised her to be this way. How do people get like this? Do you know anyone like this? What do you say to them?

I am a college student and I joined a group called SPAG (student performing arts guild). At first it was fun, but it quickly became more work than what it's worth. It was starting to get in the way of my spiritual life (I am very religious). The advisor is a faculty member at the college and has always kind of creeped me out, like I get the feeling he's checking me out at times, but then I figure it's all in my head. Anyway, I resigned from the group, and then I got this e-mail from him:

I encourage you to adhere to your sacred observances. I am aware that Dec. 21st is very important to you. Because of its importance to you I support you in your decision for the Dance this Thursday. This freedom of choice is yours. However, you will let your Advisor know if your decision means missing the Dance completely, partially or not missing the dance at all.

(keep reading, I'll add on the rest)

My neighbors pissed me off and I scratched their car bad. They caught it on video and I said it was my twin brother who wears the same clothes I do. Do you think they bought it?

Last Saturday I greeted a lady by bidding her good morning and holding out my gloved hand - I had not time to remove it, since her presence was somewhat a surprise, though I did not wish to seem rude by not engaging in a handshake. Nothing was said at the time, but this morning I recieved a note from the the lady's husband informing me that it was considered by her and himself to be most impertinent that I had not removed my glove prior to offering it. According to him, I should either have refrained from a handshake, or at least made apologies for the glove. Who is correct in this unfortunate turn of events?

My husband and I didn't have a "real" wedding. We were married at the court house by a Justice of the Peace. We don't want to have a "wedding" exactly, but on our 5th anniversary, we would like to invite our families to a renewal of vows. Nothing huge, no gifts or anything- just a small candlelit service at a chapel. Would this be in poor taste? I'm afraid our 5th year anniversary is too soon..

I have ACCIDENTALLY left a couple of stores in my area with merchandise (TOTALLY UNINTENTIONAL) and I want to see how many people acted as I did. (Points to the most reasonable answer.)

His grandmother passed away after being ill for some time. I'm thinking black or dark work-type clothes (slacks, a nice shirt, etc.), but I don't want to show up and look too formal. I know it's not a fashion show, but I've never met the majority of the family coming to this funeral, and I don't want to make a horrible impression either - the wedding is set for next year, and it's likely I won't see these people again until then. What do people wear to funerals these days?

I went shopping at West Edmonton Mall and I passed by this stand where a girl with big eyes, blonde hair and a big smile asked me if I wanted to have something cool happen to my nails. I said sure, and she started to use an emory board to polish them. During this time, she started talking to herself and everytime she twitched she would say random things like "price check on prune juice bob" or "hail caesar, emporer of rome". I am not from this country but I am wondering, is this normal or crazy? Then, after she was done and she asked me to purchase something and I declinded, she started screaming and told me she will cast a spell on me. What happened? BTW she told me she when she was a bat she was used for experiments and they stuck red and green wires through her. She also said her name was Batty and showed me this thing sticking out of her head, which she said was her antenna. ????????????

A lot of people, upon meeting me, think I am Mexican. But I'm not. I'm Spanish, and there IS a differance. My parents imigrated to America from Spain when I was a few months old. What's the best way to tactfully correct someone who gets mixed up?

Alright, I have only lived in the US for 2 years & I just recently moved to Chicago with my Boyfriend of one year...I used to go to a community college, but because I moved I quit college this summer. Now I started looking into colleges, I don't know much about american school so I checked out DeVry and UIC and was ready to apply to UIC until my Boyfriend told me about Columbia. He said he wanted to go to Columbia for Public Relations (which I said I wanted to study) anyway, so today I go check out the school & my Boyfriend calls & I say Babe that is a really nice school I really like their academic statement & their programs are great. So he gets all mad talking about I should have never told you that was my idea my college, you can't go & so on and hung up the phone on me! What kind of s*it is this? Why the **** does he act like that? I mean am I beeing insensitive? I don't get it? Am I wtong for wanting to go to this college? I would be going part time, it's not like I would see him

Ever since my son passed, I've had trouble answering the question "How many children do you have?" Even though one of my children is no longer "here", he is still my child but I'm not sure exactly how to answer this question. I don't want to make them feel uncomfortable for asking, but I also want people to know about him. How would you answer this question if you were in my place?

One of my male friends came to visit this morning and gave me some money. I didn't open the envelope until he had left. When I saw how much it was ($50--a lot for me) I was shocked. Now I feel embarrassed and guilty for complaining about being broke. There is no ulterior motive behind this gift. The man is over 80 and has a beautiful young wife. He's always doing things to help people.
