And before someone pipes in about it, yes, there is a spell checker on this site, but for one thing it doesn't cover the additional details section and for another there's no need to even bring it up unless you sincerely can't understand what the person is trying to say.

I was hired before the Holiday rush. The person who hired me said nothing about it being solely a seasonal job. But, considering it was just around the time they were hiring for season- who knows? My question is, how should I go about seeing if that was their purpose in hiring me. And if so, talk to them about making me a permanent employee. I really enjoy this job and don't want to leave if that is, indeed, their intent. I mean, what do I say to them to make them say, okay maybe we should keep her around...Thanks for any advice.

I have this co-worker who is constantly admiring my coach purse. She tells me everyday she would like one. On Friday, she came in (all smiles) and when I asked her why she was so happy she showed me her new coach bag, which, just so happened to be exactly like mine. I can understand the fact that she wanted a coach bag, but why didn't she get a different one? I told her that it was cool that she got her bag but I can't help but feel like I should keep my distance with her now. What do you think?

I have lived in my current apartment for over a year and the people who live above me are terrors!

They listen to music with a lot of bass VERY loudly. I wouldnt be surprised if the volume is all the way up. What makes it worse is that since I live below them the bass reverberation comes through my ceiling so much that it rattles my windows.

To confirm this..... One day we happened to be watching the same program on TV. His TV was so loud that I muted my TV and it sounded like I never turned off the sound at all.

Not only the loud music and TV..... He walks around so heavy that each step sounds like he is jumping around.

NOT ONLY THAT..... On a regular basis things hit their floor/my ceiling so loudly that it sounds like they are knocking over bookcases! What can honestly make that noise on a regular basis?

I have complained to my landlord a few times and the situation hasnt gotten any better. My lease says if you make this kind of noise you can be evicted.

What should I do?

* He has no idea on how to answer a question which beyong his/her capacity to understand. and for some reason when they're not able to justify the depth of someone queries, goes for unwarranted and unacceptable manner just to say something even if its undeniably immoral for them, is there any logic in that? the only way one can evaluate the attitude, is to call the person names! what about you?

I was taught to write thank you notes everytime I got a present. I continued doing so, but in the last few years noticed I was the only one in my family (mine and my in-laws) sending them. I've never got a thank-you note for Christmas gifts from either side of the family. Last year I didn't get around to it (for family--co-workers, clients, etc. got notes) and no one complained. No one ever said they liked the notes, either. I know I should start sending them again, but I'm really lacking motivation. Is it rude to ask my family if they mind me not sending thank-yous?

OK well i am studying Aged Care and i have only just started. I need some help with what words to use protecting her privacy and dignity. This is just something i have to re-write and need help!!

When i went to get judy up this morning she was a filthy, pooey mess. Needed my full assistance to clean her up and then shower her. On the way back from the shower she made another horrible, smelly mess and i had to clean her up again. She was awful to me, hitting me and punching me while i was trying to clean her up again. I then put her in the day room. She seems ok now, no more mess.

HELP!! How do i re-write that to best protect her privacy and dignity??? Im sorry to ask for help but i am lost, i have been looking at it for a long time now, im only in my 2nd week and we werent taught how to do this yet and im freakin out!!!

Thanks all,

I'm from Ontario and I recently visited my boyfriend who lives in Georgia and thought it was so neat that everyone called females of all ages ma'am. Talk about culture shock. Here it is insulting unless the woman is married or over 40.

My story: I came over from Dubai to Canada with my husband (who is a diplomat sent by the UAE government, and I just came to enjoy the Canadian scenery and cool weather) and we went to the grocery store. Naturally I kept on my "National Dress" which consists of an Abaya and Shayla. These garments are both in black and cover all but the face and hands (worn for Islamic & cultural reasons). The two women at the cashier openly made fun of my clothes assuming we couldnt understand English. I turned pink and my husband informed them that we knew what they were saying and demanded to speak to their supervisor at once. They said he wasnt there (which is a lie because there is always a supervisor on duty) so our Embassy called their main office and lodged a formal complaint. These women were told to apologize to me and even though the manager at the store offered to fire them, we said it was alright. I scolded them though (it was funny cuz i am only 18 and they are in their 40's).

I work as a phone operator in customer service. I find it amazing how many people don't know how to place an order over the phone! My question is 'several' fold....
Why do people get on the phone knowing they're going to place an order, yet don't have their catalogs, their account numbers, their credit cards readily available? I've had people keep me waiting on the line while they casually mention they 'haven't had time to look at the catalog' and proceed to spend 30 or 40 minutes thumbing through their book while they 'decide' what they want to buy. I can understand when they have questions, but this isn't the case I'm talking about. I've had to wait while they run 'upstairs' or even 'out to the car' to retrieve their credit info. I've been cursed for attempting to get information needed to even open their order! What's up with this?
1. Any phone operators out their experience this, and how do you deal with it? 2. From people who behave this way, WHY do you DO this?

I was bored at a goth/ebm/industrial night club until one of my favorite songs came on and I chose to dance to it. I found a space and was enjoying the song. Then some small guy approached and moved around kind of doing a robot or stiff dance. Then he tried backing into me. I moved thinking it was an accident or drunken behavior. He then tried moving into my thigh again. I moved a second time. He tried to move his butt toward me again. Ok. This *has* to be intentional. So I placed my left hand on his back and shoved him away. I then moved again. He did it one more time. I gave him another (harder) shove. "Get away from me," I yelled. I looked at his face. He had a vacant stare and left the dance floor. I felt I defended my boundaries but having worked in a club I know what women are supposed to do is tell the bouncer and not take matters into their own hands. I didn't do that and now I worry I could possibly be accused of gaybashing. This ever happen to you ?

I am scared for school tomorrow. On Friday afternoon, while with my cousin and his friend on the sidewalk, and this group of kids, from my middle school starting talkin sh** to us and then I said "

If u f****** touch my cousin I will punch you!"
and he said
"Then I'll slap you!" He then said "If you touch me, this girl will kick your butt!!!" (pointing to his girl friend) and she looked tough.

so what do i do if they confront me again tomorrow? My dad said dont make confrontation and contact, ignore and if that doesnt work say "I WILL CALL THE POLICE IF U DONT LEAVE ME ALONE"
