when someone looks over your shoulder at what you're doing on the computer. I think it's rude and would like them to stop with no hard feelings.

I know all about them, and feel comfortable with the situation, but how do I act when moving into someone else's living space? I want to be able to use it feely as my own, but I don't want to come in like an invader. I will have my own room and bathroom in a 3 bed/3.5 bath condo. It's 3 levels and everyone has their own room and bath on a dif level. We share the common areas on the middle floor. I would like to meet them, but they are both so busy that we haven't been able to meet. what do you think?

If I regift because I think that a gift for me that I have no use for or do not like is perfect for you, isn't that what counts? Or is it the money spent that counts?

when I answered a question and was the first to answer it; someone gave me a thumbs down on it, so I scroll and read the other answers thinking I must be an *** or something and everyones answers are very similiar to mine! Why do people do that- give you a thumbs down and then give almost the same answer? It's just rude and it makes me feel like a jerk or idiot. Like I should really care what people 'here' think, but, yet I do! strange!

I've given up smoking 3 weeks ago, it's hard to keep occupied, I find myself eating a fair amount more than usual.. Everytime my parents/friends notice; I use the excuse that it's Christmas, but then I really think - is it OKAY to eat more at Christmas, just because it is the festive time of the year we should treat ourselves?

Maybe this was a good time to give up smoking, as I have a good excuse for eating and drinking lots of mulled wine and beer!!!

What do you think?
Should I feel guilty for using Christmas as an excuse,
or
Should I feel guilty for eating more?

Every year we send her kids nice toys for Christmas, nothing extravagant, just fun stuff because we believe that Christmas is for kids. Every year she sends me a little box of junk you can buy at a dollar store. This year we received a small box full of japanese snacks. We are not japanese, nor do we like japanese snacks. She didnt even wrap them nor put a card inside, nothing. Just a box with like .99 snacks inside and a beat up frame, which she probably purchased at the dollar store with the pictures of her kids. (which by the way are the same pictures we got last year).

Now hear me, she is not hurting for money. She owns a restaurant and has a nice house and she is well off. So why these crappy gifts?

My question is..should I stop sending her kids nice toys and spend as much as she spends on us? or should I talk to her? and if I do, how do I tactfully ask her to please stop sending us these crappy gifts that will end up in the trash anyway.

My neighbor just brought me over a Christmas gift, nothing big just a nice gift with a card. I wasn't planning on getting her a gift, we are just casual aquaintences.
What should I do now? I feel funny getting her a gift now, after she got one for me. Will it look obivious that I just got her a gift because she got me one? I was thinking about making her some cookies or a cake, something I baked. Do think that would be ok, or should I do something else?

I think someone is watching our house?? Please come here?
Well, two years ago someone broke in to one of our 2 houses a week before Christmas and took all the money and presents. Well now, my mom left { about a week ago} and we caught some looking in our windows. Acctually we caught more than 1 guy. Then we saw a car parked outside our house and sat there for a few hours. Man!!! And my gut is telling me that there has to be at least 1 person here, when we leave. We have 2 computers, Christmas presents, my grandma hit the lottery so they will take her money also.. Also, evreytime we try to call the police they take 30-45 minutes to get here.... Do you know of anything we can do so no one will break in??? Or what i could do to protect myself if someone was to break in??? Thank you very much!! Happy holidays!

Have narrowed it down to 5 suspects! If that is so, they would of got their man by now surely! I don't believe the killer is amongst the 5 suspects. It sounds too good to be true.

What do you think?

This is an odd but also a humorous subject. How many of you have had workmen/contractors working at your home BRIEFLY, say 30 minutes, wanting to use your washroom. Is this not extremely rude and unprofessional? This happened to me not just once but twice, when there were plenty of public washrooms just down the street. I have a feeling they were just marking their macho territory! Are workmen not told by their companies to use public washrooms on their rounds? Just a small but annoying thing. Your experiences or opinions please.

We have two drive-through Starbucks in the area and they both have tip jars at the window. I’m concerned as to why this is when the espresso machine is a mere 3 maybe 4 feet from the window. It’s not as if they are really going far out of their way to get the coffee made and then hand it over to you. However, I do appreciate getting the coffee in a timely fashion, and am happy to pay for it, but what’s next? Am I going to see a tip jar at the window of McDonalds soon?

What's your thoughts?

Yesterday morning I had a knock at my door and low and behold it was a member of a church I don't go to (I'm not even Catholic) bringing me food and presents for Christmas. He asked if I had signed up and I said no. He just smiled and told me I wasn't the first person to be surprised and someone else must have signed me up. I thought I was doing okay with Christmas, plenty of food and gifts. I'm poor but not that poor. I really felt bad that there are kids in the world who have so much less than my kids and here they are getting even more. I have no idea who signed me up but I know the boxes were for me because the guy had enough details about my family like it was for someone at my address with three kids, I'm the only person in my area with three kids... So what I decided to do was spread the gifts and food around to various family members who are probably having a harder Christmas than I am. I still don't feel right about it though. What would you do?
