Yesterday morning I had a knock at my door and low and behold it was a member of a church I don't go to (I'm not even Catholic) bringing me food and presents for Christmas. He asked if I had signed up and I said no. He just smiled and told me I wasn't the first person to be surprised and someone else must have signed me up. I thought I was doing okay with Christmas, plenty of food and gifts. I'm poor but not that poor. I really felt bad that there are kids in the world who have so much less than my kids and here they are getting even more. I have no idea who signed me up but I know the boxes were for me because the guy had enough details about my family like it was for someone at my address with three kids, I'm the only person in my area with three kids... So what I decided to do was spread the gifts and food around to various family members who are probably having a harder Christmas than I am. I still don't feel right about it though. What would you do?

YOU did a fabulous thing !!!

I have signed up some people without their knowledge due to the fact that they were to proud to accept help.

Do NOT feel bad !!! Someone simply thought you could use it and there is no harm in that. Look at it this way >>> You turned it around and helped numerous people with that one dose of generosity!!! *high five* Keep up the good work !

i am a single mother of three and have at times needed the help of charities. i have also been privilaged, as you have, to be blessed at christmas with food and toys. for this i am very grateful. anything that wasnt suitible for my kids i either donated back or put them away for emergency b'day presents for other kids. every little bit helps and someone is looking out for you if you didnt sign up for it yourself. accept it graceously and pray that hard times when you really really need that help don't come your way. but if they do think back to christmas 2006 and tell yourself it all just evened out!
