when I answered a question and was the first to answer it; someone gave me a thumbs down on it, so I scroll and read the other answers thinking I must be an *** or something and everyones answers are very similiar to mine! Why do people do that- give you a thumbs down and then give almost the same answer? It's just rude and it makes me feel like a jerk or idiot. Like I should really care what people 'here' think, but, yet I do! strange!

Maybe the person who read your answer and gave you a thumbs down did not stick around to read other post. People can be very rude and hateful on here, do not worry about what others on here think. Now there will be some people who are going to give you the thumbs down for a while just cause you posted this and they know they can get to you.

They give you a thumbs down, because it's your answer and not theirs. It makes their question look better. How is a thumbs down rude and hateful? You guys take this way to seriously.
Who Cares!!! Most of the time the best answer is picked by voting and isn't good or correct anyway. This is just fun for me.

You know that those who do that are most likely immature little kiddies right? They have not been raised correctly, they have no manners, etiquette, respect, etc.... They do it, because it makes them think they are cool.... as if they're actually doing something to YOU personally! If you let it affect you then they are doing what they think they are doing. There is no reason to let them get to you. Yahoo Answers is not a real world .... the people are real here, but a thumbs up or thumbs down does not affect our daily life, nor should it! Just rule them off as ridiculous little children who play games on-line because their home life more than likely has been neglectful and uneventful. Don't let others bring you down!

the people that give thumbs down usually just go through any question they can find and do it. They don't answer many that they give up's or downs to. they just want to mess with people and try to make the asker think that the answer wasn't very good.

Well because the people who answer the question are not necessarily the people who gave the thumbs down. The people who gave the thumbs down might not have answered at all.

It could be the person who gave you thumbs down did not answer the question. Youre making assumptions it was someone who answered.

they proboly just did what you did only added more stuff to it and got the persons attention. so next time make sure some one else answers first or just make sure you said every thing perfictlly.
