I can beat all these answers the first Christmas after my boyfriend and I moved in with each other his mom gave me granny panties 3 sizes too large.

My sister in law gave me some cheap, plastic coasters.
The kind that cost about one dollar or less.
This was especially rude from her considering she gave everybody a list of gifts she would like for Christmas and they were all rather expensive.

Oh, let me just count the years I actually recieved something from my husband's mother and sister....
ugly purse
calendar
mc donald's food dollars (yuck! I threw them away)
wal-mart gift basket (nasty junk)
scratch off lotto tickets.
regifted candles (looks like they were on the 3rd run of re-gift)
(which incidentally, I regifted back the next year! lol)
And contrary to a previous answerer, not all gifts are because they thought WELL of you. Some gifts are supposed to be lousy, because they come from lousy people showing you what you are worth in their eyes. On that same premise, the best gifts were made for me by my kids! Even the sharp edged, uneven glazed ashtray they made in art (which I don't even smoke)

Nothing, when I gave from the heart to my boyfriend's sister. It was very hurtful. Obviously she doesn't feel the same.
