One has to learn English so that the person can go freely any where in the world. It is the International language spoken almost everywhere in the world. It acts as an umbrella to safeguard one's interests. A decade ago to learn English, you had to attend costly English classes or purchase course material like tapes and books. Now you can learn English for free from the comfort of your home using the Internet. The BBC and the British Council offer a number of on line courses, which teach written and spoken English. You can also improve your English by watching television programs and reading English newspapers. For more information, visit http://tinyurl.com/qnzpt

I would like to see people in American learn to speak English.
However, before you act so condescending perhaps you should brush up your own English language skills. "Ghetto" is a noun. Using that word as an adjective is slang usage. As for being lazy, I think there is a bit of irony in your usage of the contraction "can't", and the fact that you left out the apostrophe.

I think that by "lazy" and "ghetto" you are referring to those who choose to speak colloquially or in slang. Please don't believe that it is unique to Americans. In some parts of England you would also hear a broken English called Cockney. It is all culture! Sections of a population sometimes speak with a common accent or use common words while exisiting as a part of a larger population. Another example would be "surfers", their slang can also be misinterpreted as bad English. I think that as people and cultures get mixed you get different forms of the English Language. What would you call the language of people from different parts of the English-speaking Caribbean? It is English but it's a derivation of it as it applies to their culture?. In the same way when immigrants come to the US they bring with them their own words and accents. Some fade into nothingness and others stick and become part of a modern day language within that sect. Do not judge people for how they speak...listen to what they say!

i think it does style of computer virus me. Now, america does not have an genuine language, however the national language is English. i think of that's high quality if somebody isn't all that incredible at English, which may well be envisioned once you're an immigrant and you're a close-by speaker of yet another language. yet what bugs me is that if people pass to the U.S. and make no attempt to learn or assimilate. united states of america is a place of lots of nationalities, so that's high quality if everybody is conversing Spanish, Russian, eastern, regardless of. yet I, in my view, do no longer plan to assimilate to a diverse lifestyle. i'm American, and that i do no longer think of lots of issues could desire to get replaced to cater to a individual from yet another u . s . who isn't even attempting.

Wow. It's usually a good idea to speak proper English when asking a question like that. I do agree, though, that people should learn to speak proper English if they're going to live in America.
Additional Comments: I don't expect someone from another country to speak perfect english after moving here, but I do expect them to be able to at least have a basic conversation... especially when they open a business in the middle of America.

Your use of "lazy" and "ghetto" seem to imply your answer. Why ask this question? Is it meant to be rhetorical or did you want an answer?
Why do carnivorous lions insist on not eating plants and fruit as the major portion of their diet?

Some actually try but it's hard to learn a second language, i'm trying to learn spanish and it's tough especially because evrything is spoken backwards!! They should at least try and learn english as i am about spanish but it can be hard. As long as they make an effort but the ones that don't care to i feel bad for because no one wants to deal with someone who doesn't understand them.

Why are some people intolerant and afraid of cultures and peoples that retain their languages and customs?
Why was there such intolerance of the Irish in the U.S.?
A culture of intolerance and lack of acceptance of diversity is headed for big trouble.
