Recently a Dutch bishop said that Christians should start to refer to God as "Allah" to ease tensions with Muslims. I'm inclined to agree. Christians have demonized and oppressed Muslims for hundreds of years and it's about time we start to make ammends. Besides, does it really matter what we call our God? It's not like any Christians refer to him by his real name, Yahweh (or Jehovah). I agree that "Allah" is "a beautiful name" to call our God and I think we should move towards refering to him as such if it will allow us to move closer in spirituality and friendship with our Islamic brothers.

I'm in college, and would it be wrong to steal like the packets of equal sugar for coffee, because I have a jar of coffee and no sugar. All would it be wrong to take like a couple of forks, spoons and knives.

The tuition is like 37,000 and rising each year. So I think I'm entitled to those sugar packets and that silverware. Am I wrong in thinking like that?

The person I am referring to is a lieutenant colonol. When addressing them for the first time (I will be meeting them tomorrow), do I use the whole 'Lieutenant Colonol Smith.' Or what?

Thanks.

I've seen Jesus on Milk Cartons but never at the bank. If Jesus really does save does he use a "piggy" bank or a little golden calf bank?

Has God changed? Is He a different God that the one to whom Abraham, Moses, King David, Jesus, and the Apostles obeyed? If not, then why not live and imitate the way they lived? If they were good enough for God then, then why are the way they lived their lives so villified by Christians today? Does God's culture and desires change with society or is it the same to day as it was 2000 years ago or even 3000 years ago?

Based on the correct answers to one of my previous questions that a covenant is an agreement or contract between two parties?

after all, isn't this the message they send from another of their imaginary friends?

my point is, one does not need some sky-god-given morality to live peacefully or tolerantly. one simply needs the laws and rules set forth by man himself, which is exactly what we have always done, only now, our law enforcement officials wear badges and guns instead of robes and crucifixes...

To me how it is that God and Jesus can be the same ones if here it is very clear that they cannot be. Also, when he prayed while he was here on Earth, who did he pray to if not his Father? I want reasonable answers backed with more than 2 scriptures. Focusing and interpreting one just isn't gonna do it.

conclude that it is correct to believe in a world without a god of any kind? This idea of a world without a god is one myth out of the number, diversity and variety of myths made possible by our creative abilities and powers of imagination.

It is that they treat women as second-class citizens, through their religious dogma or by sheer intimidation, thus denying them the same rights and same access to higher education, or as ministers, priests or rabbis or as political decision makers within the system, etc. And this discrimination they claim is sanctioned by their interpretations of their scriptures.

The question is why?

I mean, I’ve read my King James over and over and found no such justifications or excuses for treating women this way. What are these people seeing (or should I say inventing) that I can not see?
