when someone says have a great day or have a blessed day, they mean it?

My wife sometimes accuses me of being too happy & care-free. Obviously we have responsibilities and worries in this life......but I have chosen not to have stress even in life's most difficult situations......because I know that I know that the Lord will provide for us somehow.

My question is this:
Is it ok to have that "hakuna matata" attitude as a Christian?

For those of you who don't know what that means....it's from the Disney movie "The Lion King"......and I think it means, "No cares....no worries"

We have the assurance of heaven in our future as believers. So anything this life can throw at us is nothing compared to the glory that's coming. So should we worry? Or should we be like Pumba and Timon sometimes? Just a thought.........

Interested to know your thoughts on what is reasonable in the way of manners.

How many of you would gladly offer your seat on the bus or train for an elderly person or pregnant woman?

How many of you hold open a door for someone or even say thankyou if someone does this for you?

I think these common courtesies are not being taught to too many of our children these days.

Or will they have to try him in absentia? No matter what might be motivating Ernie he has some good points,I would like to see the case taken all the way to it's conclusion. I'm sure some cowardly Christian Judge will dismiss the case, which is too bad.

A state senator filed a lawsuit yesterday against the God of Abraham for malovelent, disruptive behavior. Here are the details: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070918/ap_on_fe_st/odd_suing_god_4

Do you think the 'people of the book' (Jews, Christians, Muslims) should gather money and hire devout attorneys to defend their Maker, or should they acknowledge the tendency of believers acting out the will of the biblical God to wreak havoc against the planet and its inhabitants, including dire predictions of even worse behavior in an 'end of the world' scenario full of hate, cruelty and destruction?

Everyone is a double faced person. They lie about ppl. Invent newer lies about ppl and spread them. My problem is inability to become a diplomat. I can't stop telling everyone on their face if i see that they are mistreating or doing injustice to me or anyone.(and usually they don't even support me). Don't they know that God knows they're doing wrong. Or is their no god at all. How can someone enjoy lying. And still who suffers? How do i get rid of my feelings? People say college life is the best part of life. I think its better to have no life than having this

Having very sadly just had to deal with a situation that has gone very badly wrong involving a young persons mear addiction to internet porn - I am at a loss to understand where the pro-porn lobby are coming from.

Who are the winners?

It is not those that are used within the industry surely? I have not seen any porn stars on the Michael Parkinson show or with Oprah. I have yet to see a healthy, wealthy standard bearer of society wave the flag of recreational porn.

I do see the pimps with their gaudy baubles and I do see the the vacant eyed youths who view the female of the species like something hanging in a butchers window. I do see the young girls offering themselves to the alter of back-alley sex and abuse by every tom, bill (!) and harry.

Tell me - are you a proud porn viewer?

Since Acts 7:16 and Joshua 24:32 contradict eachother, does that make God a liar and the Bible a lie?

You know WHY you do not understand the bible and THINK it is contradicting? Here is why:
1 Corinthians 2:14
"But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God:for they are foolishness unto him:neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned".
Thank you skeptics, atheists, and evolutionists for proving bible prophecy for me.

Many people on Yahoo Answers ask variants of "why does God allow bad things to happen?" And the favorite answer is that if we didn't know evil and suffering, we would never know good and benevolence.

My question to believers is this: couldn't god have set up the world such that we *could* know good without experiencing evil and suffering? He's God, after all. He could make 2+2=marmalade if he wanted to.

Now you might object that an all-good universe would be sort of meaningless. But you're missing my argument. God created everything, including the very notion of anything being meaningful -- so he could have made it so that such a universe WAS meaningful.

If God couldn't do these things, is he still omnipotent?

If God didn't do these things, then isn't he still to blame for creating suffering?

when someone asks a question that challenges thier faith always answer with hatred and do not use the oppertunity to be kind as Jesus woul have them be. It is easy to claim spiritual perfection by "getting saved" but no spiritual respocibility to to have progress in thier spiritual growth.

2007-09-18 01:06:55 · 10 answers · asked by Anonymous in Religion & Spirituality

I think if I was God, and if I was getting a little bored with mankind, I would tweak things up a bit. So the tweaking would be hardship, but then I would give humanity the inspiration to cope, just barely, not too much rest, with the next "thing"!

So what would you make as a challenge for mankind if you were God, or are there enough challenges before us already, some of which I may or may not be aware of?
