Hey all, just recently got into tarot, and have found its something i have a unique attachment me, maybe due to my grandmother being an avid tarot card reader.

i recently did two spreads, about a relationship i'm in asking two similar questions.

one was - where are we going
the other was - will he commit

the two spreads were very similar in strange ways. but to cut the story short the two last cards of spreads 1 and 2 (representing the result/the answer) was (spread 1): The wheel of Fortune and the last one of spread 2 was: Death....my interpretation is that the cards are saying i may have to leave this man, as a great change is coming. or IF i leave him, a great twist of fate will occur for the best for me.

could these cards mean anything else at all?

all help appreciated.

Is it enough just to be content with yourself and worry not even about those around you? Its all about you then right?

It seems 1-3am (PST) is the time Muslims swarm the boards..
3am-7am Open discussion
7am-noon - Christians saying how great God is
noon-3pm - Mormons feeling left out
3pm-6pm is Creationism vs Evolution
6pm-11pm is Christians vs atheists in general
11pm-1am is Christians attacking other Christians, people attacking Paul time.

What do you think? Do you notice different?

On Thursday, 09-20-07, Mychal Bell, aka Jena 6 will be in juvenille court, to find out his fate in the beating of a white teenager.

Americans, I repeat, Americans are asked to wear black, on this day & date, to support Mr. Bell & his family, as the judge tells him how many unfortunate years, he will spend behind bars.

Will you or someone you know wear black on Thursday, September 20, 2007, in solidarity?

Please answer this question with integrity. Let's be civil to each other.

If you're going to spew hatred & bigotry, this question is not for you.

Thank You Kindly.

Do you believe in Trinity?

Atheist : Reject the existence of God.
Agnostic : Do not accept the existence of any God, but do not reject it either. A neutral position.

Both atheists and agnostics are non theists. Most non theists are atheists, not agnostic They implicitly have taken the position that no God exists. They might not do it explicitly, but in a discussion they tend to reply as if God did not exist. This is perhaps because the neutral position is not comfortable. If you act as if God does not exist, it is more comfortable to reject its existence in your way to think as well.

The question is what is a valid concept of God to reject? If I say that my God are the laws of physics, are you rejecting that God too? I am sure you don't, but it is an example that illustrate that you need to define what you reject when you reject God.

Would you reject a concept of God that is not against science? Have you decided that necessarily the existence of any God is against science?

What are some common practices, words, gestures, beliefs, and/or values that are part of at least one culture but are often considered impractical, irrational, misunderstood or offend at least one other culture?

For example, in England a fag is a cigarette, here, it is a mean term for homosexual men.

Thumbs up here in the U.S. is something good, but in Islamic countries, it means "up yours"... can you give me more examples like these? I just cannot think of anything else.

Thanks!

I am a Muslim male. Being a Muslim I am not allowed to shake hand with a female by a certain degree. My current job requires me to deal a lot with Westerners, and Westerners shake hands.

How do I avoid a handshake without seemed rude by female Westerners? What should I say to them? What professional gesture should I replace my handshake with?

Imagine you (a female Westerner who loves to shake hand) try to shake hand with me and I avoiding it. What should I say to you?

While teaching English my students often use thier knowledge of grammar to come up with some interesting sentences, but are not natural at all and usually just sound odd. The problem is, I can't explain why they are wrong, I just never hear people say them.
Here are some examples I can think of off the top of my head,

How long have you liked tennis?
I've been likeing tennis for 2 years.

What sports can you play?
I can play swim, play bowl and play ski.

Here is a the/a question

Which train are you taking?
I'm taking the green line.

from what I remember with proper nouns, "the" is not normally used.

for example;

I'm going to McDonalds.
versus
I'm going to the McDonalds in Tarrytown.
and
I'm going to a McDonalds in Tarrytown.

Explaining these differences is a very difficult and even high level students often make mistakes such as these,
Does any one have an explanation or advice on how to explain these ideas?

''Contractors have been accused of shooting to death an unknown number of Iraqi citizens, but none has faced charges or prosecution. In May 2007, a Blackwater employee shot and killed a civilian who was thought to be driving too close to a company security detail. ''

Why are so many Christians Terrorists? First they say that it's okay to kill all the Palestinians for Israel beacuse the Bible says it's okay, and now they think it's okay to kill anyone in Iraq too.

Christians, does your Christian Faith encourage you to Kill people that are not Christian ?

Listening to the commentators at the rugby world cup, I often here them say "the England players" or "the Scotland team". Is this correct or should they use "English" or "Scottish" instead?

Likewise, should we say "The Germany football game will be played in Berlin" or "The German football game will be played in Berlin"?

A. Stealing another person goods that actually is theirs or
B. Stealing from someone that which belongs to you.
In my opinion I would think that A is appropriate but to steal back what is yours is taking and not stealing or robbing. But to harm or endanger then that is another issue. I would like the opinion of others to coninside with what they think.
