I have a debate on sunday the 23 of september at church, my group is for christians under estimating the powers of satan. give me some ideas to argue my point why christians should under estimate satan's power.

My neighbor had a crisis a few days before her 10-day Alaska cruise: her dog sitter cancelled at last moment. She asked me if I would keep her dog. I told her yes, and I thought I knew what I was getting myself into, but it was tougher than I thought. Her dog just turned 1 while she was away, and it is a yappy Maltice. Now it's a cutie, but that dog is in serious need of dog training (plus it peed all over my house). Well, just before she left she said "When I return I want to take you and Marty {my husband} out for dinner" but I said, "Well, I think it would be great if you would be avialable for 10 days of dog sitting for us considering we travel a lot". Well, that was our deal. Now she is back and she just brought over a nice gift from Alaska, a $75 gift certificate to Baby's R Us (I'm 15 wks pregnant), and she gave us a $75 gift certificate to a VERY exp restaurant here in Altanta (the cost of dinner at this place will be at least $150.00). Well as you know Joseph smith was the beginner of the mormon religion, and he was also the first one to begin piligomy, but any LDS church these days say that they are no way associated with the poligimists? I'm looking for a website that has good correspondences on herbs for specific deities. I find lots of websites out there when you do a google search as to what the uses of different herbs are, but I'm looking for something more specific like, if the deity I'm working with is The Dagda from the Celtic Pantheon, what would be good herbs to use in a candle or incense for him. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I see many believers state in their responses that if there is no God that they would probably kill themselves, because there would be no meaning to life. They often ask how we can just live a life without a purpose. I do not know if other atheists will agree with me, but this is my personal belief. Take a look at the movie "Cast Away" for my purpose of life. Tom Hanks character is stranded on an island for four years. The only think that kept him wanting to live was knowing that he had a girlfriend/wife back home that he loved. My family and friends is what gives my life a purpose. Other things that I live for is the joy of knowledge and helping other people and animals. My life can have a purpose without a belief in God. So can people seriously tell me that they only live for God and none of the reasons that I stated? If God is all that you need, would you be happy all alone on an island, with nothing but your belief in God?

Religion and spirituality is a touchy subject. People have different beliefs. Some people don't have beliefs at all. However, there is one pressing question that has been on my mind.

What is the purpose of attacking another person's religious beliefs?

What is the use in branding Christians as ignorant; or defining Atheists as evil? Does having beliefs give you ground of bashing someone else and branding them as wrong? If so, why?

We are called to come to Christ just as we are. I will never turn someone away or make them feel unwanted in a church based upon what they wear, but I ask you to consider the following;
If the best clothes you have are a pair of ripped up jeans, worn out tennis shoes and a ragged t shirt, then it is entirely appropriate for you to wear those clothes to church. However, if you have access to something nicer, you should wear it as a sign of respect. This goes DOUBLE (in my opinion) for those who work in a profession wear business attire is required and wear a suit and tie (or dress, pant suit, etc) to work, but wear casual slacks and a tshirt to church on Sunday.
I understand that it's what's in someones heart that's important, but making an effort to show respect by wearing the best you have, whether it may be a deteriorating tshirt or armani, should be expected?
What do you think?
(PS, yes I know some of you are Jesus bashers and will post the obligatory anti christian retoric)

Ok, my question is why do Europeans claim Spain, Portugal,Greece and Spain as there people? Well it's simple they are all European. The same thing goes for Africans,we claim Egypt because they are our people. The confusing thing is all those Europeans I have mentioned above have Arab/African blood in them, but they are considered European. White anthropologists insist they are white! My question is why are Egyptians not part of Africa to these so called anthropologits? If you ask me it's racism and saying Africans had outside help to achieve what they did. The pyramids are so old there was no known European civilization at the time. I'm Ghanaian we had our own empire I still claim Egypt, I'm from the west is that something wrong? Why aren't Greeks considered African since they have Egyptian, Lybian and Moroccan blood in them?
