The Gospel of Thomas came out of Gnosticism, a sect outside the tradition of Christianity. Gnostics believed that a person is saved through secret knowledge. In this view, only people who discover this secret knowledge will be saved. (They also hated the physical world, and valued only the spiritual.) Christians believe that we are saved by loving and obeying (submitting) to God. May God bless you always.
