Evidence goes against it. If all civilizations were destroyed and all humans except those on the ark why do we have a record of Egyptian Kings and civilization unbroken through the time period? Not to mention all of the other unlikely and unverified claims. Geologists have been unable to find the evidence to support such a global catastrophe and it should have left a clear record. If as believers in the flood claim it was responsible for the extinctions then we would see a mixed fossil record with all species intermingled. Instead we see a layered fossil record with some species found in much older layers and others only found in more recent geologic deposits. I could go on but in the interest of brevity I'll stop. The link below goes into more detail.

Yes, it most definately did take place, and if people really are wanting to know the facts, or if there are indeed any such facts regarding this major event in history, then there are so many available, especially with the internet today.
Besides the actual proof of the boat sitting in the mountains of Ararat, Turkey and thats today, as we speak, as the most significant. One of the most significant proofs for me was the discovery of hundreds of large animals in the northern part of the world, i believe they called them Mammoths. These animals were found frozen, once the ice had began to melt in certain areas of the northern parts of the world. (God is also using global warming to his advantage, (i might add) to reveal these long kept secrets from our history). Anyway they found these animals in an upright position, and when they preformed the usual autopsies on them they discovered undigested food in their bellies. Now, they were found to be stuck in the frozen mud, almost knee high. Once all the tests were completed, they came to the conclusion that the only logical explanation for all of this to have happened to all of these animals was this: Noahs Flood.
Prior to the flood these animals were just doing what animals do, and that is grazing in the pastures, minding there own buisness. As the bible describes the story of the flood...it says that the water began to fall from the skies, and also that the crusts of the earth broke and water came up out of the earth, so that means that water was forming at an alarming rate, and these animals didn't even have time to leave the area they were in, or to be scattered. Not that there was anywhere to run to anyway. They discovered them all in the same relative area, there were at least a couple of hundred. Now with the water levels rising so fast, these animals just simply got stuck where they were and eventually became frozen there, where they were. So obviously the animals died before even getting a chance to digest the foods they were eating that day. And the water temperatures were cold enough to preserve the bodies, and they later froze.
Now if the media were to release these stories as they should, they would undoubtedly prove the facts of the Bible true and therefore change the world as we know it, and i guess there are some superpowers of the world that don't want that to happen just yet, do they. Religous and non-religous organizations would have some explaining to do.
Theres my story, and i'm sticking to it !

definite it got here approximately. even yet it exchange into the 2d flood pronounced interior the Bible. the 1st worldwide flood is being defined as masking the Earth at a great intensity on the 1st day of introduction in Genesis. that's the flood that drowned the final prehistoric era of dinosaurs and alter into the beginning up of the 1st modern-day era of evolution. Noah's flood got here approximately some years later and is the place the enormous quantities of water got here from that John West says weathered the Sphinx in Egypt and not wind and sand. The Sphinx and the great Pyramids spent a short volume of time on the sea floor. The date of 2304 B.C. ought to o.k. be an precise guess.

Yes. If you would like to see it (The Ark) there is a National Park and a Visitors' center overlooks the ark in Turkey. The length of the ark is 515 feet or 300 Egyptian cubits, as stated in the Bible It has been featured on ABC's 20/20, Discovery Channel, Learning Channel, CNN, History Channel, other networks and many newspapers. http://www.detailshere.com/noahsark.htm
The ark first appeared in Life magazine in 1960, and was quickly cast aside as a natural formation since wood was not clearly visible, but some were not so sure. Ron Wyatt (1933-1999) decided to visit the site for himself. In 1977, he relocated the site, and after 24 trips to the ark, he uncovered many artifacts to authenticate it as the real Noah's ark! Our own independent samples from the ark, concur with Ron's samples and laboratory tests.

Because the Bible says so is enough for me but if you must have proof watch the discovery channel and see the geological evidence for yourself. Plus on every continent there are stories handed down of a great flood and how their people survived. The bible presents one family on one continent that was a great part of the known world in the times of the old testament. People of that era would not have known of other continents and races of people.

I don't have the source right off hand, but yes the flood did happen. There are people in here who are saying that it didn't because of logic or science. But God doesn't depend on logic or science, because He doesn't have to. You could probably find some of the evidence on the net. try typing in something about Noah or the ark and see.

Sure. Epic of Gilgamesh. Noah's Ark. Atlantis. The Brazilians have a flood myth. The Hawaiians have a flood myth. Although the secondary details differ, virtually every civilization has a story about a massive flood that humanity endured.

Ok..Noahs time was about 5000 years ago. give or take. Who knows how much the calender has changed, how much time has been lost.

read this: http://researchnews.osu.edu/archive/5200event.htm

There was a major, catastrophic climate change worldwide about 5000 years ago.

It could be possible that in the region where Noah lived the "whole world" did flood.

As Fuzzy said, the flood story is repeated in cultures all over the world. It would be difficult to get conclusive proof in this day and age but I would not be surprised if someone developed the technology to nail it down. Other than that I suggest not discounting that trusty word of God.

Arqueologists digging all over the world at ruins of ancient civilizations like Egypt, China, Greece, Aztects, Inca, Rome, etc. have found evidence of the flood in layers of the soil and also at the tales of their cultures.

Here an example from China: http://www.chinavoc.com/history/ancient/myth_nw.htm
