Depends on where you live and how you live. House or rent? 1 car or 2 - kids or no kids? lots of factors to consider.... You could 'live' on 45K in most places.... get a newspaper and look at rents/house prices.... then make a list:
car pmt
car insurance
car loan
gas
rent
oil
electric
food
phone
etc

Our bills each month are about $2200. That's for 2 adults, 2 cars and 2 dogs. Doesn't include going out to eat or clothes, gas, beer money, football tickets or anything like that. Just bills. I guess the other stuff would be another $6-700.00 a month. But we live in one of the most expensive counties and states in the US according to the latest polls. So I guess if we lived in a small town or a different state, our bills would be much less. Then again, so would our pay scales.

What area and what kind of rent are you looking at. Things vary GREATLY from place to place, from the price of a gallon of gasoline to the price of a loaf of bread. And housing - New York, Manhattan, a shoebox of an apartment may run you over $1000.00 a month. In rural southern states you may be able to find a place for $200-300.00 monthly including most utilities.
Personally, I think that in order to live in a comfortable manner, one must make at least 25,000 annually in a non-major city area. (I mean a single person...)

Ok. For 1 month, how much money does it take for you to live on? For my fiance and I it takes $1000 dollars for us for the month. Now calculate for 12 months. It would take a person $12,000 to support them for one year.

The U.S. Government says it costs $50,000.00 a year to house one prisoner. On the other hand that same Government thinks a family of four can survive on $12,000.00 a year. It also depends on the Country you live in.

That depends on where you live.
San Francisco is going to cost more than Mississippi.
From experience I can tell you that you can live on a lot less than you think you can.
