Yes. It's a very grave and very evil sin, and as you burn in hell throughout eternity, you should beg the Devil for a chance to return the forks, ( spoons and knives are plentiful, but forks are in short supply, because students use them as back-scratchers). ----But how could you ever steal sugar packets?
People like Rosy O'Donnell need about 20 of those packets for just one cup of coffee.---Do you want to be responsible for Rosy dwindling away to a size 24?
I thought not.-----Take em' back you sin-loving criminal.

Stealing is stealing but if you use a fork or other utensil you could wrap it up and take it home with you to wash and reuse.
Also, if you take more than 1 or 2 napkins and leave them on a table they will just be thrown away. So it would be ok to take them as they would not be wasted. The same with sugar packets and ketchup and stuff like that. Once it has been touched by a consumer, even if it is something sealed it can not leagally be returned to stock.
Any way, if you don't like my way of thinking you could always go ask an ethics professor. You are at a college aren't you?

The real question here is, why would you spend $37,000 a year to get an education if your main concern is the ethics of
taking a few sugar packets. Your real concern should be the injustice in the world and what you can do about it.
The Western countries throw out enough food every day to feed the world's starving people. Genocide, religious wars, dispossessing people of their own homeland, persecuting political dissidents, executing minorities to sell their organs: these are the things to worry about, not whether or not whether or not to take contraband sweets to your suite.
Shalom, Salaam Aleikum, Peace!

I shall look at this issue from two positions.
First, given the theft of this continent from native peoples and given the theft of Africans historically from Africa to be enslaved in the Americas, then a few sugar packets are no big deal.
On the other hand, given the continuing theft of all the profit made on the backs of the working poor in this country by the wealthy, a few sugar packets are no big deal.
Consider them liberated for your own personal revolution. FIGHT THE POWER!

No I don't think it is wrong. I think it might be wrong to ask your child to lie about it, like making a 12 year old say they are 10. But since the child is too young to know what's going on, and won't be asked a thing- than go for it. What's an extra year anyway? He would still use the same services as a 2 year old would. For example, he would go on the same rides, if any, as a 2 year old. It's not like he will be going on the roller coasters or anything.

Of course stealing is wrong, but I don't think taking a few extra sugar packets or forks is a sin. However, you're not entitled to them. Just don't be greedy. Good luck with your education.

the only reason i think its ok to steal is when you have nothing - you have coffee drink it black - if you had no coffee and nothing else to drink i would say yes steal some -
i know im so corny - but seriously i doubt they care if its in the cafeteria but why take a couple forks knives and spoons ? why not one of each and wash them -
technically your not entitled to it because that 37,000 a year is for tuition not you supplies - unless your tuition covers that

Good question. Though personally I'd tell you to take the sugar. I don't think it's wrong............. Besides, you pay that much tuition? Take the sugar.
But since this is in religion... according to some faiths, it's wrong to even do that. Stealing is stealing... *shrug*

Yes, it is wrong to think like that. If you'll steal, you'll lie and if you'll lie and steal, you'll kill. Ask someone in authority if you could have a few packs of equal to take for your coffee. I bet they'll say yes and give them to you. If they have silverware, they'll have a few plastic spoons that you could have for free.
Ask for these items and don't steal them and become a thief.

Everyone takes a few extra of the sugars and katsup every once in a while. The "free" katsup, hot water, and crackers made a freebie "tomato" soup when I was in school.
However, if you don't ever buy sugar because there is "free" sugar available, then you are being a cheep skate as well as a thief.
