It seems like there is some sort of holiday on mon. oct 23. Or can someone explain these occurences: First of all my cousin goes to Loyala Maramount and isnt having school tomorrow. Second, there was no Sunday Night Football. I have found that its Labour Day in New Zealand but what does that have to do with America. Since Loyola is religious, it may be honoring a saint from the calender of saints, but I'm not sure. Does anybody have any idea?

they are obviously being asked by nutjobs? To read some of my posts, you might think me an atheist, but I'm a Christian and on the pastoral staff at my church. However, the arguing, insulting junk that gets written on here often times has me answering in ways that go against a person's belief, just to try and challenge what I think is fundamentalism, hate speech, intolerance, etc. Any others out there like me?

Ok... to many, people think war is bad, meaningless, and unecessary. Though war isn’t always meaningless. It's sort of like a double edged sword, with its pros and cons.... If war was unnecessary, then it would be pointless...

Regardless if right or wrong, there is usually a reason behind war and people would fight for that reason. War is never exactly 'good', but good things can happen as a result of war such as one's rights and freedoms.

I'm just talking about war in general, which is a broad subject...but yeaa... It all depends on one's perception...so what are your thoughts?

I need to know what it took to have that experience, and how you finally obtained it. What in your life has changed? How long did you have to use kriya and meditate before it happened for you?

I'm a humanitarian who will always lend a helping hand to those in need. But I do not believe in a Creator. Despite my life of doing kid things, does that insignificant fact make me a bad person? =(

It was Charles Darwin that said, "To suppose that the eye could have been formed by natural selection, seems I freely confess, absurd in the highest degree."

(Did you know that the eye has 40,00,000 nerve endings, the focusing muscles move an estimated 100,000 times a day, and the retina contains 137,000,000 light sensitive cells?)

Also, George Gallup, the famous statistician, said, "I could prove God statistically; take the human body alone; the chance that all the functions of the individual would just happen, is a statistical monstrosity."

Albert Einstein: "Everyone who is seriously interested in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that a spirit is manifest in the laws of the universe -- a spirit vastly superior to man, and one in the face of which our modest powers must feel humble."

I pay a lot each week for my yard maintenance and they are reliable even though I'm never around to see them. They come. They go. They do a great job for me although it isn't very challenging because I have minimal grass and mostly some bushes. But I do appreciate their dependability. Is it appropriate to either tip them at Christmas or perhaps give them a gift certificate for a restaurant? If so, how much?

it's a book by Charles Williams.
Has anyone read it? What did you think of it? Any insight on the book?
My son is doing a report on the book and he didn't quite get it. I haven't read it but I have done some research online and do have some reviews but also have read that it is a tough book to get through. His report is due Tuesday - HELP!
And if you have read the book then you know why I am asking in this section. And no reason to answer "there is no hell" ... that answer will be considered a cheap way to earn 2 points.

THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!

Jesus always referred to himself as having been sent by God (John 17:3) and his followers, too, considered him a man approved by God (Qur'an 19:37; Acts 2:22, John 3:2).
Jesus prayed to God like all other God-fearing individuals (Luke 5:16), and engaged in spiritual exercises such as fasting (Matt 4:2). Furthermore, Jesus lacked knowledge of the future (Mark 13:32), as only the Divine Being possesses perfect and complete knowledge.

Jesus (On whom be peace) was not God, there is only ONE God. Jesus was a Prophet sent by God to confine to the Children of Israel. (Qur'an 3:50, Matt. 10:5-6; 15:24)
"And he (Jesus) went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed..."-(MATTHEW 26:39).

And, behold, one came and said unto him (Jesus), "Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?" And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? There is none good but One, that is God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the Commandments.-(MATTHEW 19:16-17
