they are obviously being asked by nutjobs? To read some of my posts, you might think me an atheist, but I'm a Christian and on the pastoral staff at my church. However, the arguing, insulting junk that gets written on here often times has me answering in ways that go against a person's belief, just to try and challenge what I think is fundamentalism, hate speech, intolerance, etc. Any others out there like me?

Just to clarify myself, my answers typically aren't snappy, angry, or sarcastic. I just find myself really challenging a person just because their reality is so twisted.

It is very amusing to watch the reactions of many of these nutjobs to this sarcasm. Often proves the very point one is trying to make. For the real golden gems, a person with particularly fine sarcastic wit gets reported for it.
Its sad when a religious zealot is so uncertain and insecure about their beliefs that they resort to attacking others and blaming them for that zealot's own troubles.

Sometimes crazy questions get asked here by all types of people, but I noticed what you said in your Q about being sarcastic. Have you not noticed there have been several people here that have been asking why that is coming from Christians. Has it ever occurred to any of you that you might possibly be someone who helps another? Most of you profess to have a stronger faith/belief than others. You also say that you are not to judge others. When I read things like this it reinforces for me, and I'm pretty sure for others too, that you are the ones who are unsure of what it is that you believe.

I generally try not to lapse into total sarcasm, but sometimes it's hard. I'm a Catholic, and reading some of the anti-Catholic stuff on this site is a real eye-opener. How can people even believe some of the stuff they're typing? And the intolerance toward Mormons, Pagans, atheists, Muslims and Jehovah's Witnesses is no better. And that's not even counting the rampant homophobia. I try to give straightforward answers, but sometimes, I just can't help myself.

I am very sarcastic by nature. Sometimes I can't resist making a crack when the question is obviously a put on. There have been many answers that have started out sarcastic but I sometimes catch myself thinking I'm not being a good Christian in my answer and then delete it.

Sometimes I wonder if it's meant sarcastically. I'm not a Christian but I do enjoy religious debate. Yahoo Answers lends itself to short snappy from the heart exchanges.

I try not to answer sarcastic, even tho at times I would like to, sometimes I have to ask God to put a restrainer on my mind and thoughts and my fingers as I'm typing! I try to answer honestly and to the best of my ability, but reading alot of these questions makes you realize that there are alot of unsaved people on their way to hell. I know that most won't check out things I suggest, like science and the Bible web searches, fulfilled prophecies of the Bible, they have chosen not to believe because if they do there might be some requirements to meet.
Thanks to our public school systems and all the junk movies and stuff on TV, there is no awareness of what God is or any reason to believe there is a God. Live for today for tomorrow we die, and once dead always dead, no judgement, I fear they shall be in for a very rude awakening on judgement day.
Reguardless of how you feel keep fighting the good fight and never give up on anyone.

I'm kinda unsure of what I am but I can definately tell you that half the time, I don't take seriously the questions asked on the R&S section! Either from christians or atheists, fundamentalism and extremist views would be funny if they weren't so sad...

when Satan spewed his venom on The lord in the desert, Jesus Just used the Word, it is written! And that works well. People even when they are saying stupid things at least open up long enough for you to set a seed, and faith comes by hearing the word! He might have to hear it 10,000 times but upon the tenth thousands time he will come to faith! So look at them as Davine appointments from your father in heaven, and feed them there portion of the word at that moment!

Though I try to keep personal attacks to a very minimum (if at all) I am a sarcastic girl by nature and sometimes can't help myself.

Yes. Same here. I'm a Christian and I teach at two Christian colleges. But sometimes, the level of idiocy reaches a point were only swift sarcasm is due.
