I'm a humanitarian who will always lend a helping hand to those in need. But I do not believe in a Creator. Despite my life of doing kid things, does that insignificant fact make me a bad person? =(

Also, I don't ridicule those who do. =) People can believe whatever they want.

Peaceful Athieism. I like that. Although I classify myself as more of an Agnostic.

You are awesome!! You are defined by your actions, not your beliefs. Keep helping those in need and then it doesn't matter if there is a God or not - you are making the world a better place.

In this day and age where religion is coming under scrutiny and attack, sometimes it is better to leave well enough alone and not discuss religion.

Just for the record. If I walked into a room and saw 1,000 nails scattered on the floor, you could say someone left them and simply walked away.

But, if I walked into the same room and saw 1,000 nails neatly placed in some type of symetrical or numerical order, you would have to say someone put those nails in place.

When we look at the universe, from the microscopic to the immense, from the atom to the universe, there is one common denominator, everything is in some type of order. There is symetry. The atom and the planets all have an order/symetry about them.

So the question is,...who put that atom together. Who put that solar system together and was/is the cycle of life a happenstance or micaculous accident?

Which theory would be far more remote and preposterous. The one that says the order of things just happened or the theory that says someone/superior being put everything in some type of order.

The question is not whether or not a supreme being exists, it becomes, a supreme being exists, and do you think there is reason or morality for the order of things?

And, did this supreme being create us in his image, likeness, regard for our neighbor...who knows!

Something to ponder...and, by the way, keep up the good work of helping people...God Bless.

As I tell my students, generalities can be dangerous and at very least are confusing. What is your criteria for being a "bad" person? Obviously, you claim to do many things to benefit others, however, are you questioning a deeper spiritual condition? If you do not believe in a Creator, what is your standard of good? And why would you think the things you have done are insignificant? Could it be that you do indeed feel the need for something larger than yourself, for Someone who could be in control where you can't?

I don't think that you are a bad person. But as I look at this awesome world and the universe that it's in, I just can't fathom it all coming together in a random way. In nature alone there seems to be such purpose. I am a Christian and do believe that we are all created and loved dearly by Christ...he wants a relationship with you as he does with all humans. But don't take my word for it, go and find out for yourself...It's amazing when you come to the realization that there is a God and that he's very real and he wants you to accept him very much... I pray that you will at least give it a chance.

Religious fanaticism has caused infinitely more strife than peaceful atheism. The love of humanity is more than enough to an Amazing person. Watch as the crazed fanatics attack you for not praying to their god even though you may have actually helped them in the past.

Why are you asking this question? You seem to sound like a nice person. But, Sorry there is nothing good in any of us but, the Lord. Sound to me like you are feeling a tug at your heart. Heed the call. He wont call forever!

No! you are just a little confused. Give yourself a few more years of living life. When you see the miracle of birth, or really take the time to listen to a birds song, or see the beauty of the world around you will know in your heart that all of this couldn't have just happened.

i dont think you are a bad person. but it doesnt matter what i think. it doesnt matter what anyone thinks, except for what you think. if you feel you are a good person, then you are. dont worry about the afterlife. dont worry about where you will end up. just be happy, have fun, and continue to do your best in everything you do. thats the meaning of life, in my opinion.
