I never knew what a "trophy" wive or girlfriend was until I met the woman who became my wife and she told me about her experiences.
A "trophy" wive does not have to be good looking. It depends on what kind of trophy wive the man is looking for.
Men who can afford trophy wives or are stupid enough to want them, chose them for various reasons. In some cases, it is for looks especially if the man is older. In other cases, it could be status and the cultural standing of the woman's family that the man covets. You know, two rich families marrying so as to "not lower" their class or status. In my wife's case, it was for her brains. When she was young, she fell in love with a young rich man - the heir to a large family fortune. She thought he loved her and maybe he did love her to some extent. But what he really loved was that she was a very intelligent woman descended from a long line of intelligent women. She held two degrees. When he took her to France, he encouraged her to enroll in a famous Paris culinary school. (My wife likes to cook.) This was not out of love. She came to realize that she was something he liked to "trot out and show off" to his friends. She may not have been the prettiest but she was the smartest. His father was the same way. He "bought" a young pretty Indonesian wife to show off. My wife said that in those circles of wealth and society, trophy wives and girlfriends are the norm, not the exception.

I wondered the same thing myself for a while. This summer, my wife worked at a function for the top sellers in her insurance company. This function was an all-expense paid trip (both business and pleasure in nature) to Orlando, and I got to tag along. There were a LOT of men, 50+ years old, who had wives younger than me (I'm 34). It was WEIRD, and yes, I do believe at one point, I shuddered.

Go to the local school and watch the mothers who pick up their kids. That is a good measuring stick. See many natural beauties? I say there is a fine mix of fatties, uglies and normals. A few natural knock outs.

i think of quite some the time video clips concentration on actual love extremely of all the lads we'd desire to pass by way of (till now we get to the spectacular one) alongside the way. whilst a guy makes you sense such as you're in a "pc" romance, you will know he's possibly in for the long haul and he's the spectacular one.

No, and they don't look very "trophy like" when they are at home, or when I occasionally see one them strolling down Melrose.

if you go to orange county or L.A.... or some parts of texas (and really parts of the south). yes... i have witnessed it first hand... it is all too scary. ::shudders::
