The King James Version is just that - a version of the the Bible. More accurately it is a translation of the Bible. It cannot be classed as the best translation of the Bible as it was translated into English from the original Hebrew and Greek scriptures without taking into account the context of many of the scriptures.

Also, with any translation from one language to another, the original meaning of many words and phrases change and by default the nature of the texts change.

A classic contemporary example is the word snow. The Eskimos have more than 20 words to describe snow and it's various permutations, whereas the English language predominantly uses one word (although there may be 3 or four others not commonly used) for the same purpose.

God is not in a church. God is in His Word. Across many divisions, among true Christians, there does seem to be a special blessing and anointing on the King James Version of the Holy Bible.

Whatever its political background; it remains unmatched in the grace of its language and the level of scholarship behind it.

Largely due to the King James Version, the Bible became the most widely read book in human history and was the first book ever printed.

Now books about the Bible are more often read than the Bible itself and its pages, with new versions, are filtered through the propaganda of churches, cults and critics.

God's Word, like His love, will endure the saints and angels song.

Dear Brother John,

Your statements are not backed up with love.

Try this question instead:

Hello fellow Christians. Compare the following verses:

KJV

Zech 13:6And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.

Message Bible-
Zach 13:6 On the Big Day, the lying prophets will be publicly exposed and humiliated. Then they'll wish they'd never swindled people with their 'visions.' No more masquerading in prophet clothes. But they'll deny they've even heard of such things: 'Me, a prophet? Not me. I'm a farmer—grew up on the farm.' And if someone says, 'And so where did you get that black eye?' they'll say, 'I ran into a door at a friend's house.'

This a prophecy. The translators couldn't possibly have had the same manusripts to work with. The Message Bible is much worse than this and does away with nearly everything that was once considered holy or what was sin.

As soon as they realize that God has also inspired other Godly men to translate into other languages, the Holy Bible from the original Greek and Hebrew texts.

Yes! God has inspired many people, through the ages to translate His word from the original Greek and Hebrew texts, not just King James and his round table of scholars.

The people who were inspired were actually the men who wrote down the Scripture that God breathed. He didn't breathe inspiration into King James several hundred years after the Scripture had been written and Christ had gone to heaven. Only the original is God-breathed.

The King James version is taken and translated from the inspired Word.!! Those epistles were written centuries ago.

Well the Holy Bible IS the Word of God, but I do believe that the King James is one of the most accurate translations.

I did not realize it. I thought for sure the NIV was the inspired version. then I though the RSV was the inspired version. but then came the point when I KNEW the NKJV was the inspired version.

BUT THEN LAST NIGHT, KING JAMES HIMSELF CAME TO ME IN A VISION! HE TOLD ME THAT THE KJV IS THE TRUE VERSION. ALL THE REST ARE BUNK. HOW CAN YOU CALL THAT S**T THE WORD OF GOD???

preach on my brother. am i gonna see you on your corner again tonight? i made a new sign about the coming of the end of the world. it's really nice. it has lots of pretty colors and glitter on it.

Revelation 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Yet some have more than change the words of the book of Revelation they have taken away words from the whole Bible
Your have a good point Brother!

John Winston,
There are older manuscripts that were used to correct some of the problems with the KJV. But I use it knowiung that. I love my KJV. Yet I realize that the Masorites tried to poison it, but it made my faith stronger when I found that out. Jesus quoted out of the Septuagint in His day. Psalm 8 is really "Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings, perfected praise," not "ordained strength."

But yes my friend, not perfect, but inspired! Praise God!
