I've been posting similar comments here & STILL haven't found one satisfactory answer to explain the inconsistency here.

-NOW supported Andrea Dworkin... an anti-male sexist.

-NOW claims to be a "feminist" organization.

-Feminism is supposedly fighting against sexism.

-Feminism is supposedly an egalitarian movement.

So either NOW is not a feminist organization or mainstream feminism condones anti-male sexism.

I'm sorry, but you can't have it both ways. Can anyone explain this?

Ever notice that when a woman has had bad experiences and goes on a man-hating rant.. she is usually supported, given sympathy and agreed with.

On the other hand.. a man who goes on a woman-hating rant is called a misogynist, is told "he is meeting all the wrong women", and told he has poor dating skills.

Isn't this yet another example of women being painted as the victims and men as the monsters?

Yes, it seems that your sweet little Gloria Steinem was a CIA agent and worked with them to use feminism as a means to destabilize society:

It seems that a lot of fathers want to guard their daughter's cherry with their lives, but want their sons to go out and have all the fun they want. Any theories?

what he has done to your personal relationship? Let's say he cheated, you got divorced but he continues to play an active role as a father... would you tell your child the truth about your marriage?

I feel pretty strongly about this subject, and I'm curious to know what other perspectives there are.

The comparison of Dworkin to Hitler has been made. Granted, they are on the opposite ends of the spectrum, but I still wonder what makes a human so hateful.

Waiting for the spew, girls.

Let's say there is an botched abortion and the child survives and could live outside of the womb. What should happen, let the child live, or break out the hammer and finish the job?.

Pro-choice makes it sound that everyone has the choice on the life they created but rather it is only the choice of the woman who holds that creation in their body.

I posted this as "additional details" to an earlier question, but it bears mention on it's own & I modified it slightly:

(about Dworkin)

http://www.amptoons.com/blog/archives/2005/04/12/andrea-dworkin-1946-2005/

The link I posted was from a popular feminist blog. The posters there were speaking about her with respect and remembering her as an important feminist.

Is that how feminists "distance themselves" from her?

...Because a sexist bigot should have NO PART in a movement about "equality."

I don't care if she had a "few good points."

I'm sure Adolf Hitler had a "few good points" in his life, but that filth got the shunning he deserved from anyone with half a brain.

If feminists do not publicly denounce her and do so without a "yea, but she was sometimes right about..." then do not be surprised when people think feminism has gone astray from an egalitarian movement.

We are post 3rd wave feminism aren't we. I have even seen that we are now in a post-feminist society, which would suggest that feminism is obsolete.

Where do you think we are at?

On average, men like to spend a lot of money or upgrading their cars..I am guessing that women spend most of their money on make up and hand bags? Am I right?

If feminists are truly about "equality", how come they wrote so kindly about a complete sexist bigot like Dworkin when she died:

http://www.amptoons.com/blog/archives/2005/04/12/andrea-dworkin-1946-2005/

It really makes a person wonder.

Most women I meet say they want equality in a relationship. I always tell them I want a housewife. This rarely scares them away.. why? These "tough girls" turn into girly-girls very quicky when I lay down the law.

There is no such thing as an equal 50/50 relationship with equal sharing and careing. Every woman I date I dominate. She does what I want and if she doesn't she gets the boot. Thats it.

I often get frustrated in GWS, reading the crap that people ask and respond. As, I'm sure, many of you (both feminists and non/anti feminists) do as well.

So I thought...wouldn't it be wonderful if we could nominate one from each side...someone who sticks to the subject matter, without throwing in side jabs and immature comments. Then, we could post questions of a political or socially relevant nature, and have the representative from each side respond. I'm hoping that each side would choose a respectful and thoughtful representative...someone who is well versed in the views of 'their side', and someone who will maintain a focus on the subject at hand. It would be a true testament to the discussion of feminism...wouldn't it?

Despite efforts by a lot of men on this forum, women don't understand what motivates anti-feminism. It is not the denial of male-female equality (ok maybe some men do but they are in the minority). It is about upholding that equality. Women DO NOT follow the textbook definition of feminism. Most so-called feminists are actually female supremacists in their ideology and behavior. Men have a duty to oppose this.

Is it the total lack of knowledge about the REAL feminism or is it just an emotional reaction that let's some women continue to live in the state of "perpetual victimhood" that feminism provides?

I was listening to celebrity prank calls today and the women that cry when being prank called always talk tougher than the women who don't at the start of the call:

Dr Phil-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLFyk_GkLiY

Duke Nukem-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGvi7Bah6Mo

The second one isn't really a prank call, it was on an internet chat line.

I've also never heard of a guy who starts crying because of a prank call, even ones that talk tough.

I'm curious. Why do you think this is?
