Despite efforts by a lot of men on this forum, women don't understand what motivates anti-feminism. It is not the denial of male-female equality (ok maybe some men do but they are in the minority). It is about upholding that equality. Women DO NOT follow the textbook definition of feminism. Most so-called feminists are actually female supremacists in their ideology and behavior. Men have a duty to oppose this.

Their position is indefensible so they can't admit the facts.

They have to repeat falsehoods about what anti-feminists stand for when they have been told by anti-feminists it isn't the case.

If anti-feminists say they want true equality and feminists have gone past that, the feminists on here say that anti-feminists want to put women back in the kitchen.

If anti-feminists say they want equal custody of children in a divorce, the feminists say that anti-feminists want to get full custody and all the marital assets.

If anti-feminists say they don't want women to divorce if the man has done nothing wrong because it can be damaging to him, the feminists on here say that anti-feminists want women to stay in abusive marriages.

If anti-feminists say they want men to be protected from false rape allegations, the feminists say men want to make rape legal.

If anti-feminists criticize feminism, the feminists say anti-feminists hate all women.

etc. etc.

It's the best they can do.

::lol:: Hmm as a woman and an avid user of Linux (and UNIX), as well as Ruby and Perl, I agree that women are much more difficult to understand. Alhamdulillah I am much more complex than any OS, regardless of the language you use to program. ^_^ Communicating with a PC is no more than a string of commands, with set parameters. As the saying goes, "A computer will rarely do what you want it to do, but will always do what you tell it to do." Now try applying this to women. Yeah, didn't think so. If you test a program and it does not do what you expected, you return to the command line and try again. If you say something to a woman and she misunderstands, there is no going back to the command line, no cleaning up the code. However a computer will not anticipate your needs. Try writing a program that will make your favourite food for dinner, instead of just putting together something barely edible (if it does even that, since likely the program did not specify the "go to kitchen" command ::lol::). A computer will not know that you had a rough day at work and stay silent, merely offering a smile and what comforts you need to relax. In essence, nothing is wrong with you. Alhamdulillah Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala created us with feelings, and minds capable of free thought, unlike computers.

The trouble with calling yourself an "anti-feminist" is that you automatically place yourself in the position of being anti-female equality. I think that people are still stuck in a 1970s era mindset of what feminism is. The early feminists were often extreme in their viewpoints. Modern feminism is less puritanical. For instance, early feminism was staunchly anti-pornography because of the objectification of the female body. Modern feminists frequently seek to improve adult entertainment so that feminine sexuality is represented on a part to that of masculine sexuality. And we still live in a world where traditional gender roles are hindering female equality, though less so now than before. MOST of todays feminists are moderate and recognize that there is a broad spectrum of valid femininity.

P.S. I'm male and I support female equality.

Ask yourselves these basic questions:

If feminism today is indeed an egalitarian movement, why did "I" feminism spawn?

Why are there books written like "Who Stole Feminism" and "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Women, Sex, and Feminism that are written by women / ex-feminists?

Why is coming out against "shared" parenting (where mothers/fathers get "equal" time with their kids) important for a movement preaching "equality?"

Men and men's rights activists do not wish to REMOVE the rights of women or deny that FIRST WAVE feminism was important and 100% justified.

The feminism of today is FAR different from the textbook definition, so please do yourselves a favor & research this.

It's important to start healing from the wounds inflicted by what feminism has become.

Men are the direct target of the sexism contained in modern feminism, so please pardon the ones that fire back.

I think the reason it's hard for some women to understand this is due to the fact that the radicals that have hijacked the movement still use the textbook definition to describe themselves hoping to hide their blatant sexism & Marxist ideas.

"Hey, what's the problem? What, you don't like "equality?"

I beleive in womens rights and equity based femminism . However what gets the majority of airtime in media and academia is gender based femminism .

Equity based femminism is the type of femminism practised by most women on this board . Equal pay for equal work .More opportunities for women . I dont think most men opposes this .

What we opposes is gender femminism .This the type of femminism that gives every single femminist a bad name by association .This is the type of femmism that is taght in universities .

If i said it once i have said it 100 times . Women need to self police there own gender just like men do every day . The world that gender based femminist envision is the world that many of you mothers will have for your sons .

It would be terrible to ignore all the constructive critisism and insight we provide untill your sons is all grown up and has to face what we have to face . This is what it is all about .The willingness to be heard , the willingness to compromise . We dont see that with gender based femminism .

What i would like to see in a perfect world is the femminist going oh ok i can see where that impacts you . I wont give you exactly what you want but lets compromise . Lets work on something we can both work towards .

I just do not see that happening with the type of femminism espoused by the media and academia .

With gender based femminism it is my way or the highway. There is no thinking about how you reach the goals just that you reach those goals . There are many ways to reach a certain goal and what men are finding hard to swallow is that gender based femminist are not all open to limiting collaterall damage . If there are two ways to accomplish the same goal and one takes longer than the other but one is faster and much more destructive my perception is that gender based femminist will choose the quickest most destructive way to accomplish a certain goal .

Try closing your eues for a moment a clearing your head of any thoughts and preconvied notions . Imagine your a man going through a divorce and the utter powerlessness you have in the family court system .

Imagine a mere accusation leveled at you could destroy your reputation . Even if vindicated through the courts .

I am not saying women have it easy . I am not saying that they do not have challenges we do not face .i do try however feably to close my eyes and picture what they are going through . I know i dont get it right but the fact is i do try .

I'm not even sure what you mean by "feminists". Are anti-feminists the same as misogynists? You didn't specify an incident or incidents. We fought for equal rights in pay and promotions. Our great-grandmothers fought for the right to vote. Basically, we just want to be equal human beings. I have no problem paying half of the bills or for the meals, etc. That all being said, I have not read any textbooks on feminism, so am not on the up-and-up, like you are.

Good point...some women are...but don't look on the bad side of it. Feminists are out there trying to become equal...still not gaining that equality. As far as i'm concerned there is no "textbook" definition of feminism. You make it your own and embody it inside yourself. I know men who are feminists (yes it can happen) because the believe that women deserve equal rights. Not all are female supremacists. :-)

men and women do not think alike...never will.

what men understand between each other women do not understand and the same is true reversed....just the way it is, just the way each is wired.

Now I assume most women are not female-supremacists yet just about all feminist organizations are in favor of courts ruling quickly on paternity be the man the father or not in the interest of child care, which at same time could be anti-male. Now this is not to say those organizations are anti-male but are more in favor or child care and making sure women have child support......so it is all a matter of interpretation and priority...not an attempt to subjegate a gender

For my own 2 cents I hear lots of women say stuff like "I will pay my 1/2 of meal" and "I don't need a diamond" yet in reality when I hear the same women talk about men it comes down to "He was so cheap" "Would not do X" and etc.....not saying these women are anti-male but in my own personal experience the voiced opinions of equality are not matched by how the women live. This applies to men too..I know lots of guys who say they believe in equality but at same time think they should not have to clean the house.

sarah> no not laughable...it is a real issue which doesn't take away for equal rights for women. Case in point the wage gap is stupid..shoudl be equal pay for same work and the gap is closing..yet we are seeing not women making more..but men making less..so not the progress anyone should want.

This is certainly untrue for most of the feminists here. We're the ones who are trying to revive the old definition of feminism and ensure complete equality for women and men. Today's anti-feminists don't really know who their enemy is supposed to be. They're targeting opportunists, not feminists.

You're just wrong and a misogynist, pretending that you have the ability to formulate a reasonable defense for your hate. Ironic that anyone would compare hate groups such as the KKK to feminism. It's you and people like yourself using a hate group methodology: you try to disempower and disenfranchise; you try to switch the perceived view of the power dynamics by pretending to adopt the role of the oppressed demographic, which is laughable at best.

I guess you think if you repeat the Big Lie for long enough it will take root in the social conscience of women, but the only women who will be fooled were never bright enough to make a difference in the first place.
