Yes, she briefly worked in the late 1950s for an organization called NSA (National Student Association).
NSA was formed in 1947 to organize dialog between American college kids and other college kids in Europe to discuss political ideologies. This was during the time when the cold war was building.
By the early 1950s, some of the upper NSA directors started working with the CIA in exchange for funding for NSA.
Gloria was not one of these people. In fact, no one but those directly involved with the CIA knew about the connection.
This is not new news. If you'd like to read more details, you can find them in Chapter 11 of Sydney Stern's biography of Ms. S that came out in 1997.

Makow is a little extreme for me, but look how far Politic movements will go to lie about someone.
Notice Patois answer, and how people will flat out lie(whoever wrote that Wiki article she cited):
1) Makow himself is a Jew!!!!
2) If you go to the source, he said "Hitler wasn't even an anti-Semite until he was recruited by the Illuminati" ... see how far people will go to lie and make someone look bad... they cut the sentence in half and claimed he said "Hitler wasn't even an anti-Semite".
3)"Whilst rejected by the mainstream, Makow's cultural suspicion-ism, assertions and themes are common fuel and fare amongst radical fringe elements, the far Right and historic anti-modernist and anti-Semitic propaganda." This whole paragraph that was quoted is completely an opinion and not even a supported opinion. Makow himself is Jewish!!!!!
4) If you go to the source that shows the Satan, Devil, and Anti-Christ, his name is not even on that site. If you notice the trickery of the Wiki site on Makow, it states that his beliefs are in-line with those beliefs just because he's 'right-winged' and gives the source to a site that he has no affiliation to. Stating someone is inline with someone else's beliefs because they're right-winged, and then sourcing and citing the group that is not affiliated with him, is Extremely Poor writing. And again, Makow is actually Jewish. Duh.
Again, I do consider him to be a little out there in his writing, but lets not make up absolute lies. Sometimes people just get too political for me(meaning full of crap)... for whoever wrote that Wiki page.
And to answer this, Steinem has not denied this, but denies giving information to the CIA. Also, this information was brought out from within the Feminist Movement, and not the guy who wrote this article. He just put his spin on it.

Well, that society needed to be changed anyway. One that accepts and actively condones discrimination, exclusion, and segregation is not a truly free and equal society. Such a society only benefits a privileged few. Just like I'm sure that very few black people would want to go back to a time when they were discriminated against, I also doubt that many women really want to go back to the time when they had few other choices in their lives besides marriage and motherhood.

Actually, the weirdo who wrote that article is on anti-psychotic medications.
"Core beliefs of Makow revolve around Satan, the Devil, the Antichrist, anti-Freemasonic apologetic and a belief in the notorious forgery the The Protocols of the Elders of Zion all of which figure prominently in his hard-line polemical incriminations against perceived enemies. Makow also makes overtly anti-Semitic assertions about "satanic Jews" whilst he has written that, "Hitler wasn't even an anti-Semite."
Whilst rejected by the mainstream, Makow's cultural suspicion-ism, assertions and themes are common fuel and fare amongst radical fringe elements, the far Right and historic anti-modernist and anti-Semitic propaganda."

Yes, she worked for the CIA when she as young - so? I don't consider this rant a valid interpretation of her involvement.
