There is no such thing as a "tough" woman. A woman acting tough is just a defense mechanism.
The strongest women are the ones who act feminine. The bitchier a woman's attitude.. the weaker the woman. Its called over-compensation.
Your not fooling anyone girls

i hate to say it..but Brad D is actually right for the most part..
and Time will tell...has it exactly
heh..but i think we are all tough or strong in our own ways.
sometimes though..it just takes longer for some ppl to accept themselves...so until then we have to protect and accept ourselves..because we cant always depend on someone else to protect and accept us.
and really...what is so wrong with that?
sometimes those strong women you see...are the ones hurting the most inside...they feel that is they do cry everyone will look at them funny. like why is she crying if she is so strong..and the more they keep it in...the tougher the outside seems to be...until..eventually they break down. and then when you see them cry...you see how human and how frail they really are.

I think maybe that women who talk tougher are more extreme in all of their emotions. So when they are tough, they're really tough, and when they are frustrated, sad, whatever, those emotions are extreme as well. This is my opinion based on my experience. I am definitely someone who talks tough and also cries easily.

Most women are raised as "princesses".
Special treatment from their mommies and daddies...
Now that they are older they just cry because they cant get what they want. Its true though, parents are softer on their daughters than their sons. Thats why sons are normally the ones that grow up to be hard knocks.

I would guess it's because they have passion.
Personally, I'm tough and bytchy as one gentlemen called it, and I never cry in front of ANYONE. I would sooner bite my tongue off then get caught crying. My husband saw me cry when my son died. Other than that, I nave never cried in front of anyone in my adult life.
Crying is a weakness. Women use it to get what they want from others. I have never seen (although it may happen) someone cry who was not looking for something. Whether it be support or to get their own way.

The tough talk is the armour they use to protect themselves, they are emotionally unstable. They perceive things said to them as a direct hit on them personally and get their feelings hurt easily.

I think it's because we are only tough on the outside. Every woman has a soft side and feelings that can be hurt.

Brad almost nailed it. But, he neglected the fact that those women needed a defense mechanism in order to survive. Love deprived, neutering, emotionally butchered with no protection, guidance, name it. They were obviously left alone to defend themselves.
