I have a 3 and 2 year old, they don't understand what is going on. My 3 yr old cries all day for daddy and my 2 yr old will not let me out of arms reach. They are just so young I am having trouble finding the right words for them to understand that Daddy is gone but WILL come home...Any ideas on how I can make this easier for them to understand and accept?

If he was my age I'd slap the crap out of him. But he's not so I can't. But I still want him to shut up. With him home its always chaos at our house.

I have a friends who has a 3 yr old son. My concern is she is over feeding him. Here is an example. For B-fast she fed him 8oz milk & a banana. She took him to daycare & fed him 2 servings of eggs & a bowl of cereal. The child doesnt stop eating because I believe he has been "trained" to eat like this by mom. When this was brought up the mother said this is normal & this is how he always eats. No-one else in this family eats like this, but mom is determined to make sure he gets "enough" to eat.

My concern is this child may develop health issues down the road.

Any thought?

My daughter, 20 months, loves to drink her bathwater. I tell her not to and take the cup away, but she'll just lap it straight from the bath! She loves bath time, but this bugs me - should it?

My four year old keeps writing on the walls. She has plenty of coloring books and even just plain construction paper to scribble on. She knows she is only supposed to write on paper because she will tell you. I want this to stop and it needs to stop now.

I took away all the crayons, markers, and pencils and pens. She still manages to find one lurking under the couch or some where, idk. She has caught numerous amounts of spanking and timeouts. I'm done with both. Please give me some other ways to stop this 4 year old from writing on the walls. Its getting worse she even writes on the sheets and rugs in her room. Please give some ideas........

I just recently have returned to work part-time. My two year old daughter stays with my grandma during the day. My grandma gives her her absolute undivided attention from 12-4:30 when my husband picks her up. I always thought this was a good thing until just recently. Lately she has become very sassy, talking back and wanting CONSTANT attention. The second I walk in the door she wants me to go in her room and play with her. Obviously, I just can't spend every moment playing in her room with her. We spend 30 minutes or so with her every evening in her room with her "playing" and reading. I feel horrible telling her "Mommy can't play right now. I just got home from work & need to rest for a little bit." I feel like she might becoming a little bit spoiled being with my grandma. My grandma NEVER disciplines her. She always uses the excuse that she is "just a baby" and doesn't know any better. How will she ever "know better" if my grandma lets her get away with anything. My husband...

He does not like sweet potatoes, potatoes, spaghetti, any pasta, omelettes, crackers, most meat except meat balls and absolutely no pureed stuff and so many more things... I am almost going insane, I need other ideas. The only things he seems to like is canned ravioli (not the ones I make at home) those canned ones are not that good because they are too high in sodium and he also likes fruits. Although fruits are good for him, it's not good enough to get all his nutritions. His doc started giving him supplements because he stopped growing since a while back, but still I want to keep trying to feed him other things or re-introduce the foods he hates by giving them different flavors and shapes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

my 3 yr old daughter has started having major temper tantrums when i change channel on tv or if she wants a piece of fruit / buscuit or juice, she will throw herself on floor kicking and screeming, she has started doing this at nursery too. I tend to do 2 things, 1st distract her or place her on the naughty step, but most of the times neither work, Any one have any idea on what i can do as my 23 month old is picking up on this and is starting down the same path

Hi everyone,

My two year old goes food shopping with me and I usually bring certain toys and coloring books to keep her busy. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. She starts standing up in the cart and wants me to carry her and I would put her back in the cart and of course she will start screaming. I always put on the safety belt but she starts with her screaming that she wants it off.

Is there something that I can do for her to stay put while I shop?

Thank you.

....I heard about the advice that you need to start potty training children when they are ready, not before because it probably be very difficult....
but how do you know when they are ready...?
what are the "signs"..?

I have a 2 year old boy, he now sometimes takes off his trousers and nappy and goes on the carpet...which i guess suggests he might be ready but i am not sure...
he was born premature and hasn't started talking yet, so i was thinking if i start the potty training and he gets the idea how would he let me know when we are outside that he needs the toilet...?

appreciate your advice, thanx

She is 13 months old now, but she knows most of the things we say or tell her. But she starts to hit someone or hit something or throw thing near her whenever she is not allowed to do something or she resents. I almost work outside, I try my best to get close to her to teach and guide her but she always drives me crazy. How can I do to stop her such behaviours. ( she spends most of time at home with her grandmom and two cousins (4 and 6 years old- They are so naughty))
Besides, she doesn't care her eating, she can eat everything (small amounts) except for her food. She keeps food in her mouth for hours( she's got 7 teeth)
What should I do for my baby?
Thanks for your help

Our family just went through a fire and lost everything. She seems to be having trouble dealing with it and I wanted to know if she is too young to go to counceling. I didnt think so but my husband seems to think that she wouldnt understand enough. I want to give her some time but if she continues to have trouble with it and keeps talking about it then I want to possibly take her to talk with someone. Any info would be appreciated!!

Thanks in advance!!
