My Daughter's 3rd birthday party is next week. Any suggestions for an all girl Strawberry Shortcake theme party? What order should things be done?

1: let kids mingle, play any game you have planned
2: bring out the cake
3: while kids are still eating have your daughter open any gifts she may get....that way the other kids are pre-occupied with eating, and they wont try to dive into the presents themselves.

then after presents, and before any meltdowns begin (because no one else got to open presents) hand out goodie bags and send them home.

3 years old is still pretty immature to do anything formal.

We had our daughter's 6th birthday party this year, and it was the first time I'd had any kids over. So we did it big - 19 girls! Keep it to an abosolute maximum of 2 hours (90 minutes is better if you can do it, and with 3-year-olds, 90 minutes should be plenty). We painted fingernails and toenails, did a karaoke sing-along, and decorated cupcakes. Then we opened up the presents, and by the end of that, the kids were ready to go home. Oh - and keep a movie on the tv for the stragglers: Finding Nemo is a good one.

Decide on who you want to invite. Send out invitations, Decide on what games you want to play and get prizes, get the paper products and decorations, order the cake, buy the food, enjoy the party.
