My two year old boy is slowly cutting out of his day time sleeps. He starts to get grumpier in the afternooons however still fights his sleep. The advantage is that he's ready for bed earlier in the evenings and i can have some time with rest of family. It is a long day, other son's still napped until three years. I'm sure this is common, just want to hear similiar stories. Thanks...

I am concerned about my nine month old daughter. She has started banging herself against her highchair and against her crib rails (we took the bumpers out when she started to pull up). She seems to do this only when tired or cranky. She's been a "rocker" and a "head bopper" to music for quite some time, which we always thought was cute. But now I'm worried (probably because I work with kids w/ autism.
She's very normal/bright otherwise. She responds to her name and to simple sentences, makes great eyecontact, claps and waves bye. She's quite expressive and tries very hard to talk and communicate, so I wonder if this is just her way of letting out frustration. Of course the new mom in me is scared it is more serious. Is this something I should take her to the doc for or let it run it's course?

My days, everyday, seemed flipped upside down! I am a mother of 2, toddler and 5 month old whose husband is deployed. I seem to have the deployment thing under control, but I feel like I am going in circles here at home! A typical day for me could be getting about 4 hours sleep waking up to my toddler screaming in my ear and realizing my newborn has peed all over me. I get them into the bath and the phone starts ringing off the hook. We come downstairs to eat breakfast and my newborn needs to be held and my son starts jumping off the furniture. All the while cooking breakfast, I'm tripping over my own feet trying to make a bottle. We get ready to walk out the door to grocery shop and my newborn has spit up everywhere, so out of the car seat and changed for the 5 time. I lay the kids down for naps after 30 min of crying between the two, and come downstairs to check my email from my hubby. I go to sit down and the chair rolls out from under me! These are just a few of the many things.

MY SON IS 18 MONTHS OLD. HE IS DEVELOPING LIKE A NORMAL TODDLER EXCEPT HE IS NOT TALKING YET. HE SAYS NO AND UH-OH AND CAN SAY OTHER FEW CHOICE WORDS. HOWEVER HE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE ON THE SAME LEVEL AS THE OTHER KIDS HIS AGE. HIS DOCTOR SAYS THAT IN TWO MONTHS IF THERE IS NO PROGRESS HE WILL SEND HIM FOR EVALUATIONS. MY FAMILY TELLS ME THAT HE WILL TALK WITH TIME AND SHOULD NOT WORRY ABOUT WHAT THE DOCTOR HAS TO SAY. I AM VERY BOTHERED BY THIS AND HAVE BEEN CRYING AS I ONLY WANT HIM TO HAVE A NORMAL CHILDHOOD. PLEASE HELP

Okay my wife and our two kids, and me were at the store and my wife was checking out. And i was holding my daughter, she didn't want to walk she's only three. And then she falls asleep while i'm holding her and some lady walks by and says "Wow why do men hold there daughters?" Then she says men should only hold there sons". And then i heard her say " That man must be a child molester!" I think that was totally rude! What would you have done? And was i doing something wrong by holding her? And what's with some of these women?

My 3 year old and 2 year old share a room because there simply isn't room for them to have their own room. This causes a lot of late night playing and it's quite a struggle getting them to sleep at night. My biggest problem has been their room. I used to have a toy box in it until they pushed it up to the opposite wall and used it to climb on top of the shelf I have mounted high so that they couldn't reach it. Then they get under their beds and have kicked and broken several of the boards in the box spring. I have no where to keep their toys b/c I had to remove the toy box after the climbing adventure and the low shelf with all of their books and stuffed animals (which was wicker) they toppled over and stomped until it broke. I know if I put in something heavier they'll really hurt themselves so thats out of the question, I just don't know what to do with their things!!! The closet isn't even available b/c that's where I had to push their bureau to keep them from climbing it!

Tomorrow, we're having the family over for my brother's birthday. Every time we have a family get together, I end up babysitting my cousins (aged 3 & 4).

I've tried getting out Playmobile, Lego, colouring sheets, everything that I would normally take to entertain a child while babysitting. Don't get me wrong, I love playing with these kids, I just don't want to end up playing 'Hide-and-Seek' with them for 3 hours.

I can't be awake 24 hours a day and he sometimes wakes up before me and this kinda stuff happenes. Its just me and 3 kids right now my husband has been deployed since sept 10. Heeeeeeeelp! I have bad allergies right now because I live in a place that has a bunch of dust blowing around during this time of year. My 20 month old twin boys seem to be suffering from the same thing (runny nose, red itchy eyes, sore throat, coughing). I have a doctors appointment for them, but it's not for a couple days. So until then, whats the best I can do for them to relieve some of their symptoms. I already got them some over the counter allergy medicine and alot of pedialyte.

I've been really tired lately. Now I'm in a hot stuffy room, I have asthma, and my head is starting to hurt really bad. Maybe is it because of my lack of sleep? I normally go to bed around 11:00 and wake up at 6:30 for school. Am I getting enough sleep? If not, how much sleep should I get? Thanks! :) ♥
