The main thing about baby shampoo is that it won't sting their eyes. So you can switch when they are old enough to know to keep their eyes closed, or if you have a spray nozzle or other system figured out to keep it out of their eyes. I would transition to one of the other brands of kid's shampoos and a very mild soap (Ivory or Dove) or kid's body wash and watch for any allergic reaction.

My oldest son is going to be 6 next month and I still use baby shampoo for him. But then he has sensitive skin. The kids bubble bath gives him a rash. My 2 year old daughter gets the loreal kids de-tangler shampoo, because it works wonders! My 3 boys all have brush cuts, so I just use baby shampoo on them. I would keep using the baby or tearless shampoo's until they are old enought to rinse out their hair without getting soap in their eyes.

I used baby shampoo and baby wash along with baby lotion on all my kids until they were 5 or so. My daughter started needing normal shampoo and conditioner because her hair is so thick. My kids still use baby lotion and it smells so refreshing on them after there bath. It is completely up to you when you want to stop. It is actually a nice mild soap and I know of some adults that still use the baby wash because of sensitive skin.

I think at 2 you can graduate her from a baby shampoo to a child friendly shampoo that will still keep tears away. But still...using baby shampoo on a 2 year old won't harm her in the least.

I still get baby wash for my son, and he will be turning three in December. It seems easier because it doubles as a body wash and he gets very very dirty.
My husband uses the baby wash too. Apparently regular soap either gives him rashes or makes him smell like a girl. I'm not really sure on the specifics. Anyway, he's twenty-nine.

I still use baby shampoo if i run out of others.
I use baby shampoo on my dog for heavens sake (yes, i've checked its safe.) Don't worry, baby shampoo will not hurt a 2 yr old. Plus, you can use it as body wash too! What could be better?
Of course she could move on to adult or kiddie shampoo but she doesn't have to.

I never used baby shampoo on my daughter. It is not good for the hair as it dries it out. The reason baby shampoos are "tear free" is because they are made with saline...saline is salt water, salt dries. I used whatever shampoos and conditioners I was using. Pantene or Dove. As for baby washes they can use them for as long as they want

Thats up to you. You can change from baby shampoo and wash to johnson and johnson no more tears. Two yr olds don't have to have baby wash they can handle kids shampoo and wash.

My daughter is two and half now, and I am still using baby body soap on her. But, I use adult shampoo on her hair, due to it being so curly.
I am going to be using the body soap on her for a long time...but because I use it on myself because of sensitive skin. So it is just what is in the house.
We use natural/organic products in our house.

Sometimes I try to kill 3 birds with one stone and I'll shower with my 2 girls ages 2 and 4. I use Dove shampoo regular and when they go in my shower that's what I've used. They are completely fine with it although for their own baths I use Suave for kids which is also fine. I remember being nervous too. LOL
