I've been really tired lately. Now I'm in a hot stuffy room, I have asthma, and my head is starting to hurt really bad. Maybe is it because of my lack of sleep? I normally go to bed around 11:00 and wake up at 6:30 for school. Am I getting enough sleep? If not, how much sleep should I get? Thanks! :) ♥

respritory problems could affect your quality of sleep. You could ask your doctor if that could be the case. Also, a hot, stuffy room is not the best place to sleep. If you can't put an AC unit, dehumidifier, or fan in your room, ask if you could move to a different room. I found that sleeping in the basement was a huge help. Also, if you're a snorer, you may want to get a sleep study to see if you have sleep apnea. It may have not been a problem when you were younger (smaller).

Being in a hot stuffy room doesn' help, your sinus may have tendencies to dry up and for the asthma that's no good, try opening some windows to let fresh air come through, also it would help if you get a humidifier for the room. As far as your sleeping hours is concerned you could get a couple extra hours to make a total of 8 at least, but if you don't solve the asthma situation, I don't think you are going to get much sleep, also try taking some vitamins just in case you are a bit anemic, if this persists check out with a doctor

Well, I'm 14, and I try to get AT LEAST 8 hours of sleep so I don't get tired through the day (I don't drink caffeine because I'm straight edge as well.)
If I have to wake up at 6:30 I'd try sleeping at maybe 10:00? Every hour before midnight is supposedly worth twice as much as those before?

You're not even getting close! It's probably because of that, and you need to eat breakfast. The recommended time is 10 hours, but you and I know that's impossible (I'm 15). You should get to bed at 10 AT THE LATEST. It's better to go earlier. You will feel a lot better!

I've had some personal experiences with this. I dont' know if it's maybe my meds, but I'm ALWAYS tired and I've tried to figure this one out. I go to bed at 9-10 and I have to wake up at 5:30 to go to school. It's impossible with what society has set us up with, but try to get enough sleep!! :)

14 year olds need about the same amount of sleep as a 2 year old. Your body and mind are maturing like crazy. Try to get your room cooler and sleep about 10-12 hours a day. A nap after school would help get the hours in.

You need more sleep .11:00 - 6:30 is only 7.5 hours. Since you are still growing you need 8 -10 hours of sleep. Try going to sleep at 1o:00.. The headaches should go away

Your getting 7.5 Hours each night. Let's be realistic a lot of us don't get enough sleep each night. Your in the average zone (the average person should sleep 7-8 hours) Still each person is different in the amount of sleep they need, some people may need 8 or more hours to feel fully refreshed in the morning, perhaps you should aim for 8+ hours of sleep.
