Ignore them!!! Horrible people make hurtful comments because they are ignorant and too stupid to learn, it's not your place to challenge them, it is your place to stand tall and be proud of your beautiful daughter, regardless of what is, or isn't in her heritage.

I've never heard of and all "African American" city city before, because everywhere you go, there are people of all ethnicity everywhere, and every women in that city is not looking at you with dirty looks, because, unlike some, alot of women have other things to focus on than wondering if you child is bi-racial. On the other hand you're just going to have some women that hate on you, not because of your, daughter, not because of your skin color, and not because African American men may check you out, but because there are some evil and hateful people in this world, and jealousy brings out the worst in them. Don't worry about trying to explain what ethnicity your daugther is to people, you owe them nothing, and the next time you move, research the area that you are moving to, before you pick up your child and place them in an unknown community.

Where on earth do you live? I've never heard of an all African American city. We live in such a multi-cultural world. Anyway, it just goes to show you that no matter what race, there are still very ignorant people out there. If you can ignore it. These are not people who sound like they can have a rational conversation. If you get approached, then just tell them, she's not bi-racial (don't use the word mixed) and to leave you alone. If all else fails, move.

well, MY granddaughter IS mixed and we get the absolute most positive comments from Black people- women AND men! Of course, she's gorgeous and very precocious, so we get comments from everyone- but we have never, ever had, to my knowledge a negative comment made due to her racial background. Hard to believe this happens that frequently- but, ignore it when it does- those people are shallow and ignorant.

tell these people to shut up! Yeah, we still live in the days where we were segregated. NOT! That's what makes people look ignorant and why a degree of racism still exists. Tell those people that your daughter is beautiful and you like her just the way she is!
