Okay my wife and our two kids, and me were at the store and my wife was checking out. And i was holding my daughter, she didn't want to walk she's only three. And then she falls asleep while i'm holding her and some lady walks by and says "Wow why do men hold there daughters?" Then she says men should only hold there sons". And then i heard her say " That man must be a child molester!" I think that was totally rude! What would you have done? And was i doing something wrong by holding her? And what's with some of these women?

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING is wrong with holding your daughter...or son! OMG! We have 5 kids and at some point, they've all slept in daddy's arms! I can still remember MY own father's loving arms!
Maybe that woman has had something bad happen. (A REAL molester wouldn't be so open with a child anyway!) She should keep her opinions like that to herself! How did your wife not slap her??? Just kidding...sort of!
How would I react? Well, I would imagine I would have probably just stood there with my mouth hanging open at such a comment!
What you should do now? FORGET IT and hope you never have to endure her again!!
It's wonderful to know that a dad is around to hold his child! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your kids and don't let it bother you! Don't let one ignorant woman ruin your time with your kids...they'll grow and won't be able to catch a nap on your shoulder!

What an idiot! She obviously has some issues with men. Perhaps she didn't have a good childhood or her husband only wanted to hold his sons. I don't know what her problem is. I would just ignore her comments and chalk it up to ignorance. My husband carries our daughters (2 and 3 years old) around and I appreciate his help. Keep it up!

ignore the old bitty.not a thing wrong with holding your daughter and dont mean your a bad person.means she loves you and trust you and is comfortable enough to sleep on your shoulder.my husband has even changed diapers of our girls dont mean anything wrong was done.if thats wrong then women shouldnt be taking care of little boys should they?i was still setting on my dads knee at 36 right before he passed away.not a thing wrong with it.just keep loving that little girl dad because the father daughter bond as she grows older will get stronger and is so special no way to really explain it.i was a huge daddys babygirl all my life and treasure every second of it.

It depends on the age of your child. Kids 6 or younger the ones that get tired and don't like to walk and wants you to hold them cries because they are tired that is okay to hold them. I think that you are a good father some fathers would just like them walk. I think that you can spoil your child though depend on age. As they get older and get to heavy for you to carry them then what would u do? But as far as people sayin your a molester for want ing to hold your own child is crazy

She really said "men should only hold their sons?" So men shouldnt hold their daughters at all, only the mom gets to hold the girls?? That lady was stupid beyond reason...There is nothing wrong with holding your daughter while she sleeps...from your description, it sounds as though what you did was fine...WOW..that really angers me lol...I'm sorry that she said that to you, and I'm sorry she has such a negative opinion of men...

Thats crazy. You are obviously a great dad, they have the problem, not you. Why do ignorant people think that men only harm girls anyway - this is far from true. Carry on being loving to all your kids, girls and boys. Ignore stupid people.

Oh blah on some people. My husband always holds our daughter when she wants him to hold her, and he rocks her in the recliner to help her go to sleep at night. Little girls need their daddys security, it helps them feel secure and loved. You didn't do a thing wrong. You were being the loving father that you apparently are. :)

That lady had "issues".
I remember my dad holding me when I was young and I loved it. My mom hated to hold me because I weighed a lot more than my sister, and so my dad held me.
It's good for daddys to hold and love thier daughters. Just ignore that weird lady.
