My father never gave me kisses, but we did not have a good relationship at all my whole life so I don't know if this is a normal nice thing to do to a daughter??

My daughter is almost 3 years old.

my father molested me so I surely didn't have a good relationship with him.
I am thrilled when my 16 month old daughter kisses and hugs her daddy. I feel like she is blessed with a great father who loves her and I am so thankful and appreciative. I hope they always have a wonderful, loving and close relationship. It makes me sad to think about all I missed by not having that kind of Daddy and how much different I would be today. I'm sooo grateful that her Daddy displays affection for her and she is comfortable displaying hers for him!

I rather have considered this question earlier... i don't have faith of that there is a few element incorrect with a father kissing their daughters on the lips... If there is a few element incorrect, then why is it ok for a mom to kiss the two a daughter or son on the lips? i detect it unhappy that each and every little element is sexualised!!! My father has never EVER EVER EVER tried to do some element 'innapropriate' to me... yet i visit periodically get a %. on the lips on an identical time as this is a few element rather happy or rather unhappy... i'm 27... i visit offer my father a %. on the lips... i visit offer my grandmother a %. on the lips... i visit offer my aunt a %. on the lips... And if i did not hate my uncle... i might desire to offer him a %. on the lips... yet for the reason that he's an asshole I supply him a company handshake... I additionally do the ecu element of a kiss on the cheek for the reason that I quite have been uncovered to such diverse cultures... It has exchange into 2d nature to me... friends, relatives individuals, strangers... that's the way that diverse cultures say hi... an same as a hand shake ideal right here indoors the U. S.. i visit assert it decrease back! I HATE that each and every little element HAS exchange into SEXUALISED!! this is retarded... there is not any longer some element inaporpriate with relatives individuals and friends expressing their PLATONIC recommendations in process eachother... not some element incorrect in any admire. Tongue kiss? that's sexual... a short %.? thoroughly organic and organic and ok.

No it is not weird, and yes you maybe jealous. There is no reason to be weirded out or jealous. That is a normal nice thing to do. My husband was an only child, and did not receive much affection from either parent. We have a 6 year old son and 5 month old daughter. From the day they both were born my husband has showered them with love, hugs and kisses. It doesn't bother me one bit, because I want them to be close to love and protect them. Everytime one of us walks out that door, we say I love you to each other along with a kiss and hug we do that with our children it doesn't matter if we have had a bad day or not. It is a part of parenting, if not then something is wrong.

Unless you have considerable reason to suspect that your husband is overly affectionate with your daughter then I would just be happy that he was giving her the fatherly affection that she needs to grow up as a healthy girl. She will probably grow out of the desire for on the mouth kisses in a few years. If it bothers you that much, I would look at what his father has been like when greeting your daughter or your husbands sisters. You should not be jealous of your little girl, she is just a baby.

You know I was just talking to a friend the other day and we had this discussion. Girls are very different than boys, and dad's need to realize that. What you describe is an important part of affection that your husband needs to continue to display to her. When she gets older and only wants a kiss on the cheek that will be appropriate also. Girls need their father in their lives. If they do not get the affection from their father that shows them they are beautiful and important and deserving of respect from themselves and others, then they will go looking for it in other ways. Encourage your husband to continue this relationship with your daughter and as long as it stays healthy then your daughter will learn the right way to have relationships with boyfriends also. Make sure your husband is in agreement with the importance of both your relationships with your daughter.

That is very normal, honey. I don't think you are jealous, Sounds like since your father didn't show you that kind of affection, you just don't know what to expect, so that's why you are paying any attention to it. Trust me, this is very normal & not weird at all! When your daughter gets older she may start to turn and give him the cheek. but he will probably at least hug her everyday of her childhood. I still hug my dad & kiss him on the cheek when I see him, when I come in and when I leave. Its a perfectly normal sign of affection.

My husband kisses his son on the lips (he's also three), as do I. Nothing strange about it. I'm fairly sure that in a couple years my son will have nothing to do with kisses, so I take all I can get for now :-)

A lot of families kiss on the lips their whole lives - it's cultural and not strange at all for them.

You have no reason to be jelous because he gives YOU a kiss then his daughter. You are his wife and unless you have doubt sbout your relationship needn't worry about it, be happy for your daughter.

It really depends on the family. Mine was always affectionate. But we never kissed on the lips. It was always on the cheek. My 6 month old loves to kiss us on the lips but I only initiate it on the cheek or forehead.

But I have known familys that kiss on the lips between parent and child.

I wouldnt be jealous. There is nothing romantic about it (obviously!!), he just truly loves his family.

Why would you be jealous of your own daughter? He's kissing both of you. Be happy he loves you both and wants to show it.
