I had planned to host a Halloween party for my 4 yr old and her friends, but then found that she's invited to a horseriding party on Sept 30th and a Halloween (actually it's a bonfire and hay ride) party on Oct 27th. I was going to have ours on Oct 20th. Most of the same kids are invited to all. Should I just cancel my plans to host one? Thought about moving it up to Oct 13th so they'd be more spread out, but hubby thinks thats too early for a Halloween party. Thoughts?

I am planning on throwing my son a birthday party in November and am inviting quite a few of his little cousins that range in age from 1-4. I would like to have a special selection of foods for them, what are some ideas? Are there any websites with kid menus/recipes? Thanks for your answers!

My 2 1/2 year old got into the Desitin, and used it like hair gel...now her hair is half white. I've wiped off what I could and washed her hair, but it's still in there.

i live in Suffolk County, Long Island. I want to throw a b-day party for my daughter who turns 5 in January. I tried this place Wood kingdom in Farmingdale, but they wanted $350.00 for a hour and and a half!! WAY too expensive! Any other suggestions? It would have to be an indoor party based on the time of year. Also, I don't want to do McDonalds as we've been to a party there, it wasen't that great so I'd like to do something else. I'm looking for other suggestions besides Chuckey Cheeses.

Ok, so my daughter had tubes put in her ears in March. She is 2 1/2. The first couple of times she had a bath I told her to be careful not to get the water in her ears. Now she freaks out at one little drop of water getting in her ears. Bathtime is a fight when it comes to washing her hair. I haven't found an easy way to rinse where she doesn't scream like it's hurting here. I've even tried to rinse with just a wash rag and she has a cow with that. When I was a kid I had this shower ring that went on my head and it probably stuck out about an inch or two all the way around my head and not just my forehead. This helped the water stay out of not only my eyes, but my ears also. I can't seem to find these any more at all. All I can find is visors to keep the water out of the eyes. Does anyone know where I can find something?

A kid we watch started limping on Monday. My mom told her mom yesterday that she noticed that she was limping. Her mom said that she didn't notice (as if she didn't really care) She doesn't pay that much attention to her. Shes been off of work for 2-3 months and has brought her to our house to watch her all the time when she could be spending some time with her. And she also said that she would stay home with her but she just can't handle her.( as in shes gets annoyed and wants her own time not wanting to get bothered by her kid) But anyways we don't really know if its really hurt or if it will go away. She doesn't seem bothered by it though. Should we still be concerned?

Ever since my 13 month old son has been on whole milk (only been a month now) EVERY poopy diaper is a soft mustard yellow color. Not loose and watery like diarreah, just really soft and STINKY!
The softness of it, and the amount (has about 4 of these a day) has caused his bum to become pretty tender.

Is it just the whole milk that is causing this since it's only started since being on the milk? Could he be allergic to the milk?

i use to feed her and somehow force her to eat more food. but now she is not letting me to feed her and she tries to eat by herself. she keeps playing with the food, spoon and the plate. but wont eat...... and she cant sit in one place and eat.....she gets bored and goes away from the food and does not want any... she then gets hungry and asks milk...... solid food intake is SO less. this worries me. how to make her eat.? or shall i just leave her the way she is and wait for a change in her eating habit...... pls suggest me something.

I sit her down 3 times a day with food infront of her and she MAY take a few bites and throws the rest on the floor! She only shows interest in junk food which she very rarely gets, and almost always shows interest in other people's food but even then will hardly take a bite. She probably weighs about 24lbs now (which is how much my 11month old son weighs). Should I consult a doctor, or just keep trying??

How do you get a child to speak in sentences and say "I would like___ Mommy" or "my ___ hurts?" My daughter is intellegent otherwise (she's catching up as she was two months early) and can say many two word phrases, but to get her way or when something hurts she just whines, cries, and SCREAMS at the top of her lungs. She's the same way when I take something from her that she shouldn't have or if she throws her toys and gets them taken away.

Maybe I'm overprotective but I'm not gonna give my kids gum until they are over 7 at least. We watch a 2yo litle boy and his mom gives him gum!!! Every time he chews it for like 30mins then he swollows it. Then she gives him more!!! He always swollows it, but she is not the least bit concerned. He comes to us at 8:00 am with Gum already. We have told her that the kids cannot have gum here so he has him spit it out when she brings him but he screams for it after for like 30mins. Its almost like she doesnt want to listen to him cry for it so she gives it to him and makes us deal with it after she leaves him. The no gum rule has been in effect for like 4 year now. We are not gonna change the rules for him, How would you handle this?

It could be the littlest thing to set her off just turned 4 today she was upset that she could not get her way wanted to go to the store i was'nt ready had things to do . I explained to her this, she started screaming she could break crystal i put her in her room and shut the door told her she has to have time out , here comes another blood curdling screams. she opens the door i shut it again and again the battle pursues, she won't stop screaming, combo whine, kick the walls. She will not stop she'll go 15 minutes or so she gives herself a headache when she does this not including mine.
i 'll go in and try and calm her down with talking holding her doesnt want that right then, just screams and stares out in space like shes in a trance this scares me.. I am at lost in tears all day over this. any suggestions

My husband has a pit bull (came w/ him) and he is still young and very energetic. He is a nice dog, not mean and we raised him really well as far as violence. The only thing is I'm 61/2 months pregnant and at home most days so I have to take him out to go to the bathroom. He is sooooo strong and when he sees dogs or other people he gets so excited and yanks me. I'm only 125 5/8 and pregnant so he has more strength than I do. I am so fed up w/ it and if I don't take him out, my husband complains. I'm scared he is going to hurt me by pulling me in the ice when it gets cold. I also don't know about his hyperness and a baby. I'm afraid he will just jump on him and hurt him. Does anyone have big dogs? I love him, but sometimes I wish we never got him...What do you do w/ your big dogs?? Plus I'm sick of his hair and smell everywhere even though we wash him...he still misbehaves as far as tearing up couch cushions and gets in the garbage or food off the counter...He's like a baby himself!

or known a child on it? Does it really help. Do you think it would help a child with severe ADHD and other severe learning problems? I am a nanny for a 7 year-old boy and his almost 3 year-old brother (He will be 3 this month) They are both delayed, but don't have the same issues. The older boy is SEVERE ADHD, can't read, barely speaks, not potty-trained. I am not sure if it is worth it to the parents to pay $69 for the diet if it won't help. I would greatly appreciate any insight into this. Thank you.

What do you feed your autistic child who is on a wheat free, dairy free diet? I am considering giving it a try for my 4 year old son who is falling on the high functioning side of autism, but definitely has some autistic behaviors. How did your children adjust to the change in diet? I have 2 others that would have to do it too as I can't give one a pb&j and not the other! Also, did you notice any changes and if so what and how soon. Thanks in advance!
