or known a child on it? Does it really help. Do you think it would help a child with severe ADHD and other severe learning problems? I am a nanny for a 7 year-old boy and his almost 3 year-old brother (He will be 3 this month) They are both delayed, but don't have the same issues. The older boy is SEVERE ADHD, can't read, barely speaks, not potty-trained. I am not sure if it is worth it to the parents to pay $69 for the diet if it won't help. I would greatly appreciate any insight into this. Thank you.

do you ever read time magazine? it just ran an article about the effect of food additives on children, especially w/ ADHD. i'm not familiar with the feingold diet, but id recommend that article to you! it seems that there's a pretty significant connection w/ preservatives, additives, etc on kids with adhd. might want to look into it!

If the boy is seven, not potty trained and can't speak it's NOT ADHD, more likely it's a genetic problem, or some other form of physical mental retardation. I don't know how much a diet will help him (although diet changes have cured what is know as ADHD although not actually a medical "disorder" at all.)

If his problem is caused by things in his food, such as chemicals, pesticides or severe allergen a diet may help. Try feeding him organically grown food, no fast food and cut out all major allergens and sugar for a while. Even if it doesn't work, he'll be that much healthier physically.

Yes, That diet has been around a long time. My nephew was on it years ago and it made a world of difference in his problem. He was hyperactive. That's what his problem was at the time.He was like a different child, it calmed him down! Good Luck I hope it works out for him.
