Ever since my 13 month old son has been on whole milk (only been a month now) EVERY poopy diaper is a soft mustard yellow color. Not loose and watery like diarreah, just really soft and STINKY!
The softness of it, and the amount (has about 4 of these a day) has caused his bum to become pretty tender.

Is it just the whole milk that is causing this since it's only started since being on the milk? Could he be allergic to the milk?

He does eat table food. LOVES all foods. Eats meat (homemade roast, meatloaf, meatballs, chicken, pork, ect) potatoes (mashed, baked, fries, tots, ect) fresh or frozen veggies of all sorts (except corn, just not ready for THOSE diapers!) and pastas.

Try watering the milk down, half and half and see if it helps. My brother went through this. Its not an allergy, its more of a sensitivity that passes as the digestive system ages. A lot of kids do better to wait a little longer on milk than others, or to have it watered down. You can always do half formula and half milk too.

He happened to out grow it by two years of age.

Try lactose free milk and see if that helps, may be lactose intolerant or it could also be teeth coming in. My kids would get a sharp smelling poop and a blistering diaper rash when they were getting molars or multiple teeth at one time. Use triple paste in the diaper area to provide a barrier, it works great.

His body just has to get use to all the hormones in milk, I started buy organic, its more expensive, but my daughter didnt have a reaction and those stinky diapers. If you dont want to buy organic give it sometime and his body will adjust. You can try 2% and give him vitamins.

At 13 months your child should be eating green vegetables and meat. Does he? He might be getting molars. The best thing is to ask his doctor to be safe.

yellow poop signifies gas.. what you can do is change the milk to 1% and it will cut down on the gas.. all i can say is that you are lucky that it isn't runny.. cause I've been there..aint pretty. I would advise taking him to the pediatrician and find out if he is lactose intolerant cause that could be it too.

best of luck.
