Wow, girls are supposed to be the easy ones! With Taylor I put panties on her and the first time it ran down her leg she wasn't having it at all! So she learned pretty fast then. She did not at all like being wet.

It took so long for us, I thought my son was going to be going to college in diapers (I wish I was kidding, but I really did think that).
We tried the feel n learn diapers (they seem to wick away the moisture like diapers and didn't work), we tried just plain underwear (he didn't care if he was wet). The daycare teachers couldn't find a way to get him to learn it... The reward system didn't work... Advice from others didn't work... We promised him any toy he wanted... We told him he couldn't do things unless he was using the potty... But nothing worked and it was very frustrating. We had to work so hard to stay calm and appear un-frustrated. We kept talking about it and encouraged him using the potty.
Eventually he did get it at 3 years 9 months. He just went into the bathroom one day and said he used the potty! Yes, he was almost four years old, but at least we wouldn't be looking for college-size diapers. He is almost five and we don't have that many accidents at night anymore and never during the day. I guess he just wasn't ready and eventually did it when he was ready.
Best of luck to you - I know how frustrating it can be. Hang in there... she'll get it!

i trained my niece at 18 months.
you get her all excited about the underwear. let her pick them out.
royal potty is what we used. i really dont think it works.
i did NOT do the reward system.
i took her to the potty EVERY 30min EVEN if she did not have to go or if i did not have to go.
i woke her up at night to take her. would waker her up about every 2-3 hours.
one week later... potty trained. VERY few "accidents"
never used pull-ups. it was a really hard week for both of us. but now she is 2 1/2 and tellin her parents NO to diapers and now in the last two weeks when we are in the car, she let's us know she has to potty and will HOLD it in til i/they pull over.
consitstant. i think that is the key too.
good luck!

Hey, pull ups are just like a diaper, to a child. LOL
I gave up on diapers and pull ups and my child loved being naked while learning!!! It's true! He had his potty in front of the television and love sitting there watching a show. After a few rounds of going potty, he was thrilled and started to understand the concept. After he got really good with it, the potty went in the bathroom. Eventually, he chose to use the real potty on his own. : )

If you have a little potty, have her sit on it when you go to the bathroom. If she isn't giving you any signs that she knows when she has soiled her diaper, she might not be ready. When she starts coming to you to get changed, she is starting to get ready. Some kids will resist being potty trained for awhile.

take off the diaper, and put underwear on her bare butt. Take her to the bathroom when you have to go. You dont have to give her candy, a snack, or a sticker, if she uses just get excited, and hug her and kiss her and jump up and down, and tell her how proud you are of her. You have to make it exciting. This how I did it. And I also told her to tell me when she had to go, and of course she didnt at first, but she didnt like the feeling of the pee running down her leg in her pretty pantys. Get her use to sitting on the potty.

Buy some character stickers put 1 sticker on a piece of paper displayed on the fridge every time she goes. So she can show everyone what a great job she is doing (worked well for my 2nd child also a girl). Another thing that worked was letting her run around naked (made a mess a couple of times but it was very effective)

i just put both my kids in underwear and had them sit on the potty every half hour or so to check if they had to go. pullups are pointless, they are basically diapers. if your daughter has an accident(most likely she will have a few), remind her she needs to pee in her potty and not her underwear. dont make a big deal or it can become a control issue.

My son really liked airplanes. I bought some underwear with airplanes on them. He loved them! I told him he could only wear them if he was sure the airplanes would stay dry and let me know when he wanted to wear them. Everyday, I let him see them in the drawer when I selected his clothes but said nothing. It worked, and I let him select the time. Try some theme that really interests her. This is not a time to push........all kids eventually get potty trained. Usually before they are three. If you push it, you can end up with a bed wetter for years and that is really a hassle.
