My 11 month old gave up the bottle at 7 months I feed her formula with a spoon
Now that she is older it is getting very difficult to feed with a spoon
SHe barely has 12oz a day including her cereals that I give her for breakfast and dinner
She eats food well though... she cannot drink from a sippy cup or a glass
she gags with a glass
I know formula/milk is very important i don't know what to do
My pediatrician doesn't help too much

I am the main caretaker of my 4 year old niece. She is currently property of the LA county court and we are in a custody battle. The court will not allow us to spank. I have tried everything. Here is a list:
1. Took her toys away
2. Put her in timeout (1 min. for her age so total of 4min.)
Longer if the crime is bigger.
3. explained to her that if we are mean to people ,people will be mean to her, if we are nice...if we give attitude....etc...
4. had her write ten times her crime (the thing she did wrong)
Example: I will not throw sand....I will not hit.....etc.
5. Yes I threaten with the police (I used this because she tried jumping out of the car in the freeway thank god for child locks)
I explained to her police are trained to teach people not to do bad.
6. I used the talking method were I simply talked to her and hoped she'd understand.
7. I have completely striped her from all her belongings.
8. I have ignored her and walked away when tantrums accrue.
PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

Hello . I have a 4 yr old son that just started preschool 3 weeks ago . He is a hyper child . I am having trouble and dont know what to do about him . As of yesterday he just got on a 10 day probation . If he doesnt change he will be removed from class. I am a wreck . Acedemically he seams well but behaviorally and socially he isnt. He has very good days but then very bad days . One day the teacher says he is showing signs of improvemnt the next she is ready to kick him out . He is having problems listening , following (understanding) orders and doesnt understand a no touching rule as in dont grab a childs hand and play hard . He doesnt hit. I dont think he will start kindergarden next yr cause he is way immature in school setting but dont know what to do as him learning those settings . If teachers always kick children out that need this how do they learn and what do i do . Its hard not to blame myself trying to think if I did something wrong. This will hurt him deeply

Hi. I am looking for a great toy for my little one who will be 18 months old at Christmas.
She has hundreds of books (yes, hundreds!) of books and lots and lots of clothes, as these are the items which family and friends always buy her. I am very grateful to have the books and clothes for her. Since I have those items already, can anyone recommend a great toy for her for Christmas? She will be 18 months old at Christmas.

I do in-home daycare and I have a 3 year old girl in my daycare that has been adopted and diagnosed with attachment disorder and possibly ADHD also. She is absolutely rotten to deal with! I understand she has problems but I am completely at my wits end with her. She has no remorse when she hurts other kids, she laughs when she gets in trouble, she is completely out of control and it's even worse when her mom comes to get her and her brother. When her mom comes she thinks every rule I have is out the door and runs around destroying everything. How can I approach her mother about finding another daycare? I can't handle her anymore, I have 5 other kids to take care of all day (one is my 12 week old baby) and I just can't keep up with her destruction. Any ideas?

My daughter is 2 and is in desperate need of a haircut. She has had 4 already and she's pretty good when getting them. The problem I have is paying a hairdresser the $5 plus tip for 30 seconds of work. Now would I be crazy to attempt to cut her bangs and bangs only on my own. And if not any tips on how to do this.

My b/f has a child from a previous 'one night stand' and just recently i found out that he gave his three year old son beer while at a party at his fathers house. i think that is irresponsible and wrong.
He says that his father let him have beer and that he turned out fine. YEAH RIGHT! Beer has been the biggest problem in his life, he has a DUI, fell off a three-story balcony while drunk, causing thousands in medical bills, and not to mention, got a girl pregnant and now has a child he can't afford.
I dont know what to say to make him see that he is only hurting his son. Does anyone have experience with a situation like this? Or should i just leave before some of his stupid-ness rubs off on me?

Step daughter will be 5 in Jan. She is still peeing on herself (ALOT).She will be wet from her waistband to knees on her pants adn doesnt care. She will poop on herself and then lie, again just sits in it. Her mother didnt care until now. Games, dolls, other favorite things have been taken away. She doesn't care. She can't speak properly, can't read, can't write. She will stand there and pee on herself while you are talking to her. She cannot put a sentence together, you cant understand her. She has no thought process. If you ask her if she danced at daycare, she starts saying "and dog camo-momma work-dere's a bug-i'm thirsty, etc". She cannot tell you why she wont go to thepotty. She sometimes ignore you when you are talking to her and will lie that she went on the potty when she didnt. Sometimes, she cannot follow simple instructions. It's sad. I have taught her how to spell her name, ,but she still doesn't realize she has a first name and a last name. I care and am trying to help.

He is only in daycare 3 days a week at a very small in home facility. He is the only boy and the sitter has never had a problem with him hitting the girls there, she said he’s really “lovey” and gives hugs and kisses to them all the time.

But I noticed when I pick him up he is trying to slap my face. I don't want to hit him for hitting me...really what would that teach him?

He is usually "lovey" with us (my husband, our daughter and me) but every once in a while he just starts hitting us? And....I'm 7 months pregnant and he will even hit my belly, like an open hand slap? How can I stop this?

I return to work next Tuesday and my 11-month old baby is at daycare getting used to the place while I've been at home crying for the past 3 hours.

Note:

Please don't judge. My obligation to work is what it is. Financial obligations are a reality. I can assure you I don't love my baby any less because of them.

No Mommy Wars please.

Please don't reinvent my question... if you've made the choice to not use daycare and you've never been through this, please reconsider answering. (I'm in enough distress already thanks I don't need an argument too.)

If you're a SAHM with a soapbox you need not comment. (Don't waste yours and my time. 10 points is not going to one of those answers.)

Thanks.

I've explained to him how irritating it is ( in nicer terms of course) and how if he would just speak nicly I would be much more apt to concider is request. Didnt work either. He wyns about every thing from not being able to find his shoe to not wanting green beans on his plate. Please help. I've concidered gouging out my ear drums just so I dont have to hear it anymore.
