She started waking up crying shortly after I quit breastfeeding. Sometimes he cries for five minutes and she can't be consoled. Sometimes she gets fussy in the evenings. She is 23 mos old.

Since my children nursed at night as toddlers, and sometimes nursed a lot - like during growth spurts and cognitive leaps - your child may be waking to nurse for those reasons and crying about that.

Let your baby sleep with you, cuddle with you. It's what nature intended and how most babies sleep best.

my daughter does this too, tho i stopped breast feeding her when she was about 8 months old. anyhow when she gets fussy in the evenings its usually because shes sleepy, but can't (or doesn't want to) go to sleep. She eventually will go to her room and fall asleep. When she wakes up in the middle of the night, i will usually go to her room, and pat her back untill she feels better and goes back to sleep. sometimes she'll go into our bed room, and i let her fall asleep with us, and move her back to her bed later.

sounds like she's waking up hungry. it's the adjustment from being weaned. just try filling her up more before she goes to bed.

graham crackers and warm milk make a good filler.

Unless I think something is wrong, I let my daughter cry it out. This works wonders for me.
