I feel your pain.

I have this problem with my 11-month old. She's tiny and still fits 3-month pants in the waist, but needs to wear 6-month pants for the proper length. I'm either showing off her legs (which isn't so great in a Canadian winter) or her diaper! (Plus she's tripping on the pant legs when they fall off her.)

Everyone keeps telling me to get her a belt... silly because a. try finding a belt for a 6-month old and b. most baby pants don't have belt loops!!

I just put her in a bigger size of pants and roll them at the waist or at the cuffs once so they aren't so long and under her feet when they start sliding down.

Take care

My three year old still has the belly, too. And no "junk in the trunk."

Her pants are CONSTANTLY falling down. She wears a 3T or 4T, and I can't go to 2T--they'll be miles too short. I can't go to overalls, because they're hard for her to undo when she has to go to the potty. And we can't do all tights and skirts because a) it's not practical for playing and she's an outside playing kind of girl; and b) we live in Minnesota, and it's too darn cold for those sorts of things half the year.

I just keep hoping that her belly will go away in the next few months and we just have to deal with it a while longer.

PS - we tried belts, but if they're tight enough to keep her pants up, they're a potty problem.

It's a total bummer. I can't believe that no one out there has a solution!

Girls Pants Fall Down

I have the exact same problem. She is 3 and wears 4t, 5t pants becasue she is so tall. I have found that OLD NAVY puts out a brand that had the elastic belt inside the back of the pants it helps but we constantly still have pants that seem to fall alot. They work better then other I've tried. I wish they made belts for little kids, I know that there is the safty thing that they may put the belt around there neck but they need to get it together and get a brand out there for realistic kids.

Good Luck and if you find some let me know too please.

My 3yo daughter has the same problem, and it drove me crazy for a while. I bought her a couple of belts from the Children's Place (she wears the 6-18 month size on the smallest setting) to wear with her adjustable waist jeans (which don't tighten enough on their own even on the smallest setting) when we are together, and I know I'll be able to help her when she uses the potty. Even so, she can pull her pants up and down with the belt still fastened and the pants still stay in place when she walks, runs, jumps etc.

However, most of the time (and especially at nursery school) she wears Gymboree leggings. I hate to sound like a commercial, but they really are perfect for this problem. Unlike some other brands that I've tried, they're tight enough to stay put at the waist but they're easy for her to pull up and down by herself. Plus, they make them in knit and velour which is better for cool weather. As for pajamas, we still use "snug fitting" pjs (also from Gymboree) and/or footed blanket sleepers that cover from shoulders to feet.

BTW, after using the 30% "Circle of Friends" discount (you'll need an email coupon) that's running at Gymboree this weekend, you can get leggings for about $7-8 per pair.

Best of luck!

My grandma always took in my pants for me. I fit the length but never the waist, this is probably what is going on with your little girl. Sometimes I see in pictures were she bought the pants a size too small then added a cute little fabric piece at the bottom to make them longer. And lots of belts. I also wore alot of skirts and pants with the elastic waist bands.

Get her some really cute suspenders. Have you tried elastic waist clothes you can take in? What about overalls and jumpsuits. My neighbors daughter has the same problem except she is 8. The only thing that works for her is to constantly tell her to pull up her pants. It doesn't always work.

My son has the same problem, he is really tall though and to get them long enough I have to go up to a size 4T...which are HUGE around the waist. You just have to shop around for jeans with the adjustable waistband all the way around...Levis has them, Kohls, JCpenny...sometimes Target...just shop around. They also make "slims" they aren't "slim" enough for my son though. As far as other pants...I just don't put them on him anymore cause they just fall right off the poor kid. Wish I could help more :)

I have the same problem with my little girl. She is two and she has to wear 12 months in jeans. So maybe you should try buying smaller sizes if you haven't already.
