My son is 12 months old and I still cant get him to sleep through the night. He's always been a fussy sleeper ever since he was born.He still wakes up about 4 to 5 times at night and all the energy I put into making him sleep again leaves me frustrated, tired, angry and furious in the morning.Since I am a working mom,it is interfering with my job as well.My son's bed time routine is the same as everyone's-have dinner, take a bath or a quick rub-down,drink milk and go to sleep by 9.30.If I am lucky he sleeps till 3 and then wakes up and starts either crying or babbling to himself. He used to share a bed with me and my husband before, but now i put him in his cot.But when he wakes up at night and wont go back to sleep,i put him in bed with me and that is the end of my sleep. He keeps tossing and turning. He wakes up next at 6.30 for his feed(breastfeed).Breakfast is at 9.30,afternoon nap is between 12 and 5.He is very active as well. Can anyone tell me how I can get my son to sleep through?

Ten points to the person who puts the biggest smile on my face! I'll start things off with one of my own:

Our old house in Anchorage had a small window in the hallway of the third floor, and my wife would leave it open in the summertime for ventilation. One day (my son was not quite two) one of the cats was sitting on the window sill watching the birds fly by. My son walks right up to the cat and shoves him out the window with both hands. Then he turns to me, with a big smile on his face, and says "Kitty jumped!"

(And no, the cat was fine; there was a small ledge just outside the window that he landed on...)

My son is just over 17 months old. The only word he says is 'Hi!' in a sing-song way.... He says it all the time and I think it's absolutely adorable. He knows what it means and waves at everyone when he says it with a HUGE smile. I was perfectly happy with this until this past week when several people told me that he might have autism because he isn't talking or saying other words. I've read tons of information on autism and I don't think he has it, personally. But now they've got me a little worried about it. When did everyone's kids start talking?

Any suggestions besides PB&J. I don't mind giving him that every so oftern I just feel like he is getting bored with it. I pack him a lunch every morning daycare. Unfortunately, I don't have as many options as i would if he was at home. The day care doesn't not heat anything up for him. So it has to be ready to serve. Any ideas???

What is the average age that toddlers usally are fully potty trained?

My daughter is 2 1/2 and she's working on it. She will have her days where she will tell us when she's gotta go then there will be days she'll ignore us! Most of the time she'll tell us when she's got to go when we are actually out in public at a store or resteraunt.

Just wondering if she's getting to the point where she should ALREADY be fully potty trained?

Thanks!

Ok, maybe he's not, but he's 2.5 and once he sees a woman with a tank top or a skirt he goes touching their skin (chest mostly) and rubbing their legs. Even little girls in the Mcd's playroom.
He also has an obsession with nipples, I don't let him touch mine, but he always tries and he tries to touch other women's boobs. He even asks men (like my husband and my dad) to take off their shirt and he wants to see their nipples and rub his tummy on their tummy. We hug and kiss him A LOT and I breastfed for 1.5 yrs. It's kind of funny, but embarassing some times. Does anyone else have such a sensual child?

BTW he never with anyone else, he's only with me and my hubby together so if anyone is going to suggest foul play by some adult don't bother.

My son is telling his father and stepmother that I hit him with a belt! Who else is he saying this to? Why is he saying this? I don't even own a belt and if I did, I wouldn't be whacking small children with it! They don't believe him, but why would he be saying this stuff and how do I help him realise that it's not acceptable? Is he doing it just for the attention?

Background: 3 yr-old smart handsome boy. Parents separated as peacefully as possible when he was 1 1/2. Now lives part-time with mother, me, and part-time with father and his partner. Both parents have made huge efforts only to speak positively of other parent. The child is generally well-behaved and well-socialised, attending care 4 days / week since age of three. Has a busy happy life with various siblings and as much opportunity as possible. No other behavioural issues that aren't common to every three-year-old on the planet.

What is your advice? (Cruels and fools need not answer thank you).

Today, while in the store I gave my three year old daughter a tug on the ear to get her attention. Mind, you this was after several times telling her not to climb on the riding lawn mowers. Then she decided to run willy-nilly though the store.... so I tugged and an older lady told me that it was child abuse.... But what else can you do? I got angry and asked her if she wanted my job. If I had let her run wild, then it would have been my fault if she hurt her self... a "why doesn't she discipline her child" sort of thing. And I've seen parents do far worse in stores... what do you think?

The age difference between my son and nephew is only 7 mths. Its not only different in age but in developmental (physically and mentally) as well. I'm not trying to say that my son is better or clever. Juz that my nephew is coming to 4 years old and he still doesn't know how to talk and communicate with ppl. He will shouts and scream for no reason. Sometimes when my both boys (4 years old and 2 years old) wanted to play with him, he will scream at the top of his voice. I have no idea y he did that. At times I happened to look at him in the eyes, he seems so 'empty', as though he is in his own world. I'm worried for him as he will be in Nursery nxt year. Each time when we tell his mother, my sis-in-law abt this, she said " Maybe his developmental is slower. Never mind. We will observe again." She will never accept our advise in bringing him to see a doctor or a Specialist. Can anyone tell me whats wrong with my nephew and how do I get my sis-in-law to bring him for further check-up?

OK my daughter went potty for the first time on the potty in two months, now she just wants to wear panties, I know this is a good sign but I don't know if she is fully ready to wear straight panties she is only 2 3/4 old. I know she needs to be potty trained and we have been trying hard from bribing to getting her a new toy, nothing worked. So today after her bath she said potty so I took her to the bathroom and she went, we all danced and sang and congratulated her with clapping and telling her she was a big girl and a good girl. So now it's about bed time and she won't put on a Pull Up, should I slip one on her when she falls asleep or should I let her be, I don't know if she is to the point of waking up to go potty.

Any suggestions or comments will help. THANKS.

she always makes jokes about it, talks about it, grabs it, etc. We have told her we don't like it that it's a potty mouth, we've tried ignoring it, we've even tried time out. Nothing is working. I though it was a phase that would pass, but it hasn't passed yet....
