OK my daughter went potty for the first time on the potty in two months, now she just wants to wear panties, I know this is a good sign but I don't know if she is fully ready to wear straight panties she is only 2 3/4 old. I know she needs to be potty trained and we have been trying hard from bribing to getting her a new toy, nothing worked. So today after her bath she said potty so I took her to the bathroom and she went, we all danced and sang and congratulated her with clapping and telling her she was a big girl and a good girl. So now it's about bed time and she won't put on a Pull Up, should I slip one on her when she falls asleep or should I let her be, I don't know if she is to the point of waking up to go potty.
Any suggestions or comments will help. THANKS.

i have four kids , 3 out of nappies and this is how i did it.
once the pants go on during the day do not resort back to nappies no matter how inconvienient it is if she wets herself. if in the house let her run about with just her pants on it saves on the washing. dont just rush the minute she wets herself to change her, i dont mean keep her wet for ages but just enough for her to know she doesnt like being wet. if possible try to stay put for a week although i know this is not always easy. i ended up leaving clothes at family and friends just incase and dont leave the house without a change of clothes.
do not do not try to take her out of them at night until she has mastered it through the day from experience you will end up with alot of wet beds. tell her if she is a big girl through the day she will be able to do without at night. you will know yourself when she is ready if she has gone a full week at night without being wet then i would have ago.
she really is old enough to do this my daughter is 3 1/2 and she has been out of them for over a year
good luck

You say you dont know if she is to the point of waking up to go potty. Your first clue is does she have dry nights usually. If so, allow her to wear the panties to bed. Just put a rubber sheet over her mattress and under her regular sheet incase of any accidents. But dont hinder her development by putting her in the Pull-Ups after she goes to sleep. This will start to confuse her.
Face it, Mom, your little girl is growing up! :)

both my children were potty trained my 1 and a half yrs old so that is good, it only took me two weeks to potty train them too. see this is how i showed them by the way ones a boy and the other is a girl. I bought the once upon a potty tape for them and i sit them on the potty in front of the t.v. everyday after lunch for 2 wks and every 3 hrs i would take them to the potty. I would set my alarm to wake me up at night so i can take them to the potty. after that there bladder just got used to it.

She seems old enough to try it! My little girl went straight from regular diapers to none at all. I guess you daughter is ready. Try it out one night and see what happens. She might just sleep through the night without wetting herself.
When my daughter first started not using diapers I tried slipping on a diaper after she went to sleep, but she was mad in the morning!!! If wetting the bed worries you, just slip one on after she goes to sleep though. And no, I dont think 2 3/4 is too young. That's a good age.

To begin with this is hilarious because it is exactly my story. I make my daughter wear a diaper at night but if she threw a big fit I would probably get a rubber sheet. I think waking up wet would be an incentive to get up and go potty.

Why don't you try some rubber sheets or something like that, if she doesn't want the Pull Up that's a good thing. My experience with them hasn't been positive, as I am now waging a potty war with a 3 year old (she's winning).

well when my daughter wanted panties, at 3 i told her all she had to do was potty in the potty every time, and she did it, but i still put on her diapers at night, and thankfully she didnt complain, after her diapers were dry for a month i just let her wear her panties, they were ones with ruffles on the butt, which is what she thought was so fantastic. you might try bribery with ruffled panties if she doesnt wet her bed.lol

Congrats!! What I did was put on the diaper or pull up and then panties over them. My daughter wanted to see her panties on. She was able to go to bed and not wet herself and still feel like a big girl.

Yea!!! My 2 year old just went through that. I think if she is hell bent on not putting on a Pull-up, let her be. You may want to put an extra something on the bed though. Maybe tell her she is going to sleep on a magic carpet (towel) that will chatch any pee that tries to sneek out.

put some plastic on her bed and let her go to bed without the pull up...girls are far easier than boys with this, they hate getting messy
