I don't see why not. I don't see anything wrong with children going outside their gender circle to be the monster of their choice. :) I hope she (and you) have a great Halloween!

Sure, why not?!!? If she wants to be Freddie, then let her be. Don't force her if she is afraid of the costume, but don't make her be a "fairy princess" either (if she doesn't want to be). Let her know that she can be anything she wants to be - for Halloween and in life. It will teach her to ignore the stereotypes and pursue anything she dreams of in her life.

Is that what she REALLY wants to be?! THen let her do it!!! Why stop a child from using their imagination! My son was Freddy last year...and this year...YUCK..he wants to be a zombie...

It's a fictional character that some children want to dress up as...I guess the person who first answered this...never had a childhood or a good imagination!! If that's what she wants to be...let her be it..don't FORCE her to dress up as something she won't be happy with...

I think your child can be any thing they want for trick or treat.. Not all little girls want to be princesses or fairy's.. Why is it only boys get to be scary??
