Yes...I find that I don't have much time to sit and play. It's the housework, cooking and everything else! The point is that we ARE there with them. They have our attention and are being cared for by us and not a stranger/day care. No matter how busy the day gets, nothing can replace a child being at home with mom! I sometimes feel guilty about not enough playtime but feel better knowing it's me caring for and watching my child grow.

Well I have 3 kids, two of whom are home all day (one of them is in preschool 2 mornings a week). I have a husband who works about 80 hours a week. I have no family. I have not slept through the night in over 3 and a half years. I have gained 20 pounds. I cannot remember the last time I was ever allowed to do anything just for me. Housework? I don't even have time to take a shower.

Well, I spend a lot of time with my 3 kids. We homeschool. We read together and play together. I get the housework done as quickly as possible.
I get breaks on Thursday evenings when my husband is home early. I take full advantage, believe me. And I go on a yearly trip with the girls for a weekend. That helps a lot, too.
I spend time with the kids while doing housework, too. My 4 y/o likes to help with the dishes. I help the 2 older ones to clean their rooms. And so on...

I am a stay at home Mom. And it does seems like housework, etc takes up all of my quality time with my kids. I try to involve them as much as possible so that adds to the bonding a little. I think that is a topic not many people understand an never will. Not to mention any specific people.....(husband) (opps!)

I often find myself spending the time while I'm doing housework with my daughter. Now that she's nine months old, I don't think twice about having her sit in her highchair while I'm doing dishes... and throwing laundry out of the baskets is her favorite trick.
I still give her the independence of not being in my arms all of the time, but having her close by... she's free to crawl away and play with her toys whenever she wants, but I find that she's enjoys sticking close by me while I'm doing housework.
There's always time for play... but if you can teach kids from the beginning that even housework can be fun you'll have an easier transition with it when they get older.

Because I have a whole regiman it allows me to have more quality time with my family.
I wake up around 6:30am pick up get my clothes on do my make-up, pick-up the house and check bank information on the internet. This is all done before my son wakes up and my husband is out of the shower. It's also nice to do it without interuption!
On certain days I clean bathtubs and sinks and so on. And then I make sure we do something fun that day. Fridays are Library day. Groccery shopping is on Mondays. It's a good schedule so my 2 year has a schedule as well.
To answer your question yes I do spend time with my son. I started the Activity Fun Box with my son and have at least 15 min of full attention to him.

Too much if you ask me.. Sometimes I don't have an adult conversation for days and often find myself saying words to my husband like I got a Boo Boo, It's Snacky Snack time.. Things I hear from my kids.. To get really quality time with them, Saturdays is Family time and that day we spend it doing things with eachother, like go to a movie, take them to the park or going swimming...I hate housework, that is in the back burner...

My girls are 1 and 4. While picking up, the 4 yr old helps me by putting dishes in the sink and even dishe=washer and she loves to help separate clothes by color so I can wash them. Then she helps to fold the socks by finding matches. The 1 year old will be in the playpen while her sister and I are cleaning up, then she comes out and plays by making a mess, so I end up cleaning again (mainly toys, and those are easy) The 4 yr old also likes to pick out what we have for lunch, and sometimes, depending on what it is she gets to help make it too (like if we are having sandwiches, she gets a plastic Zoo Pals knife (no ridges) and she gets to make her own sandwich....usually PBJ. I spend as much time as I can with my kids. The only time they are usually on their own is when we are all waking up and I am here, answering questions :) And during this time they watch Nick Jr for maybe an hour. My kids also like going to the playground, and the 4 yr old know that if she helps enough in the morning, after her sister takes her nap after lunch we will goo ver there so they can play.

I actually spend alot of time with my son. My oldest is in school so he and I take this time to be together. We go to the park and he runs all my errands with me. I try to get as much done as I can while he naps. But if I can't then he comes down to the basement with me while i do the laundry, and rides around on his little bike. It'll be a liitle harder after next month because IM pregnant and due the 26th of October. But i'll have to figure it out from there.

My kids help with the housework (they are 2 and 5). I may not have a spotless house, but I have happy, healthy kids.
