People say that you should only have sex when you are at a responsible age for it when you can deal with the consequences of unwanted pregnancy, STDs, etc. but is sex before marriage in general an immoral concept?? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but support your case.

I mean you are watching a cartoon and when you less expect there is a commercial for I love New York with her showing her behind on TV, or a commercial comes up that you just wonder if you are supposed to lock all your channels and only rent videos cause you know that there is not commercial and " no danger " How do you feel about television now a days, I mean I love New York, Flavor of love, Jerry Springer, Maury and his paternity tests and other shows that I can not name cause there are so many, how do you feel about television now a days and should I block all channels and only rent when I have kids? Even on SpongeBob Sometimes they say a few things that I don't think are 2 or 3 year old appropriate!

My son said this tonight and it killed me...."Mom, when my brother and I were talking about 'IT' (sex) he said when you do it, you lose your gender" (The boys this conversation pertained to are 16 and 11, the 11 year old is about to go over puberty in school this year and is quite nervous so we have been preparing him for this. Anyway, I thought this was funny because the elder didn't say gender but virginity.)
Anyone have a similar experience (with wording that is)?

See this article: http://news.yahoo.com/s/csm/20071218/ts_csm/atot

"Toy totals are 30,000 this year compared with last year's 140,000 at the local headquarters here in Los Angeles, Sergeant Torres says." (about Toys for Tots)

'"We are getting so many e-mails and calls from families who are concerned about not having toys to give to their kids," Torres says.... "We barely have enough toys to cover any of the lists from the various organizations that we work with like local schools and churches."'

"Salvation Army Centre City Corps Community Center in San Diego, asks for close to 7,000 toys each holiday season."

The last time I checked there were no cases of lead poisoning from kids (please correct me if I am wrong), yet we're treating it like an epidemic. Many children are going to go without a Christmas this year mostly because of lead paint.

What's worse, no toys, or toys that hold a very very very very tiny chance of getting your kid sick?

Opinions?

A few days ago I was talking with some of my friends about parenting and childbirth. One of them mentioned that she is not particularly interested in having children because she doesn't think she would be a good mother and she doesn't have that "instinct" to have kids. She said she's just never had that desire to be a mother. Some of my other friends kind of attacked her (verbally) and told her she is "heartless", "selfish", "cruel", and "not a normal person" for wanting to do something with her life other than having children. I was kind of shocked-- I don't think it's a bad thing to not want to have kids.

What do you guys think? Is it a bad thing to not want children? Does it make you selfish if you don't?

My daughter has always been good to go to bed, she has a story or two in her bedroom and normally falls asleep during. I read to her one night then my husband reads to her the next which has been fine. All of a sudden she insists that she needs me to read the story everynight. When I explain that its daddy's turn she says ok then when he takes her up to her room, she tells him she needs mummy or I don't like my bed; bedroom. What can I do to rectify this. My husband is gutted that she's reacting to him in this way. Would be grateful of any tips, ideas. Thanks

What sense does it make to get up in arms about a mother or father swatting a child on the butt to correct bad behavior (or, for that matter, even beating the child) but then turn around and support the murder of children just because Mommy and Daddy don't know how to keep their legs shut?

How do you feel when it's time for your child to have a vaccination? Upset, worried, glad they're safe?

What are your beliefs on them overall? Should your child/children have them or not?

Just curious on different opinions.

I have been given nearly all my vaccinations. Apart from the BCG (tb) thankfully they stopped it just before my year in school was due to have it!

Before I was a Mom
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom -
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down.

I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop
the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom -
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important
and happy.

Before I was a Mom -
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to
make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the
wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

My son haven't tell me he knows who is Santa, but i guess he knows, since he have asked to me if he can ask him for something.

Of course i follow the game of, i don't know, what do you think? do your friends still get a Santa's present?

He told me that one of his friends wrote a letter to Santa, but just because if he doesn't write his letter, his sisters won't get Santa's Present either.

Anyway, i'm planing to let a present in the three, despite he haven't make the letter, as Santa. I mean, like a little game betwen both of us, i don't care if he is already a big boy, i hope he can feel Chistmas is magic anyway!

What do you think?

We've been invited to four Christmas parties this year where Santa will be attending as well as going to see him at the mall. I'm getting tired of him! LOL! Anyway, is it just here or is it the 'new ' thing to have to bring a 'wrapped' gift from Santa? Every party we go to [even the mall] Santa gives out a gift. So, that means we've already had to give our son three Christmas presents. Is it just me or is this just fueling materialism? Growing up, when I went to see Santa we'd sit on his lap, take a picture, tell him what we wanted for Christmas, and go home. There were no gifts! Uggh. I'm so sick of it already and to think I'm having another one.

So, it is just something that happens here or is it changing every where? What do you think about it?

Please don't think I'm a Grinch. Trust me, I'm as festive as the next person. I just hate that Christmas these days is ONLY about gifts.

Yesterday my 2 yr old tripped and fell and hit his head on the corner of wooden pallet walmart had a display sitting on,and got a nasty gash on his head,he had to get 1 stitch.I am thinking of going and talking to the store manager and letting them know what happened and also to let them know that somethings in there store are dangerous for little kids,I don't want anything from them, money or anything but I want to bring to their attention that they may want to change something around in their store,it could have been much worse 2 inches lower and it would have hit his left eye,THANK GOD it didn't...

What is your opinion on this do you think I should go and talk to them,my hubby doesn't want to do anything, but I want to bring it to their attention so it can be prevented in the future, what do you think??

I am a mother of a 4 year old and I have a baby due in 14 days. My daughter (the 4 yr old) is by my ex husband. Every Christmas we have to switch off on who gets to keep her on Christmas Eve night. Well this is his year to keep her and I know I am going to cry my eyes out. The year before last when she was 2 and he had her, I didn't sleep a wink and I cried all night long. Now, being 9 months pregnant and emotional as ever, I need to keep myself calm. What do you think I could do or not do to get upset. Thanks so much in advance

Thanks for reading this. My husband, two year old daughter and I live in a small, 900 square foot, 2 bedroom house. The rooms in our house are the combination living/dining area, the kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom. We are expecting our second baby in March and I'm kinda stressing about how we're going to find the room because it already feels like we have outgrown this place with just one child. For example, we have very little storage space - just the 2 small bedroom closets. We don't have a lot of furniture or stuff (I hate clutter so I like to minimize it) and right now my daughter's toys are stored in her room around along the walls. How do you make it work? Moving is not an option (my husband doesn't want to move from this house at all, nor does he want to add on). I really need some advice for kids sharing a room and for making raising 2 kids work in a small house! Thanks for your time and God bless!

Like....no dicipline at all?

Im not jealous, or angry. Not anymore anyways since I am now 25. But my little sister is 17 and does not have to do a damn thing around the house. When I lived there, I had daily chores on top of having to wake up at 8am every Saturday morning and clean the ENTIRE house. I would get yelled at if I forgot to polish the table legs!!!!

So why does my sister have to do absolutely nothing??
