Why is it that the same people who demonize parents that spank their children condone abortion?

What sense does it make to get up in arms about a mother or father swatting a child on the butt to correct bad behavior (or, for that matter, even beating the child) but then turn around and support the murder of children just because Mommy and Daddy don't know how to keep their legs shut?

You know, you brought up an awesome point. Naturally, people will say that you can't compare the two. It's okay to get rid of an innocent life and yet it's not okay to give a child a swat or two on the bottom.
Pretty sad, huh? Being okay with killing a baby but against a simple spanking. Wow... that is highly immoral.

Okay, I was spanked, not beaten, as a child. It made me remember, do you want to make this decision? It might cause you pain!

My mom got an abortion soon after I was born, not to murder the child, but to keep it from the horrible life I had as a baby. My dad was between jobs, my mom had lost her job. We were living in a small apartment in Boston and my mom didn't want the baby to have to live through that. Thankfully, by the time I was 3, we were wealthy, in a house and happy.

I don't believe in abortion, not for religious regions but for the fact that I don't want another member of my family to leave me, whether I've known them for a month, or my whole life.

You made an excellent point. Of course it makes no sense to support abortion and oppose spanking. But the reason some people do that is they consider children who are already born to be human, but they do not consider unborn babies human, and justify murdering them. As a previous respondant said, it's probably "out of sight, out of mind". People who support abortion and oppose spanking claim to care about children, and support rights for them, etc.- right up until it interferes with their sex life. Pro-abortion activists are selfish people who do not care who they kill as long as they can have sex whenever they want.

And by the way, there are people who support abortion and also support spanking. There are also people who oppose both abortion and spanking.

I don't know. I am in favor of spanking but not abuse. Spanking is a show of authority and is more of an emotional shock for the child than a physical. It should not be hard enough to bruise but enough to show the child you are serious about your authority and I would prefer only spanking with a bare hand.
Abortion though should be a choice of the mother and although I would never get one myself I would not force my beliefs on someone else, even if I believe the only abortions that should be allowed are first trimester.

Because they think right is wrong and wrong is right and are too stupid to know how ignorant they are.
The say it is perfectly fine to murder your unborn child but WRONG to discipline it in a way that will make it behave when it doesnt want to.These are the people who are bailing their kids out of jail at the ripe old age of 11 yrs old.
Abortion is MURDER, spanking ,contrary to the belief of liberals(an synonym for idiot) is NOT abuse, it teaches children there really IS a bad consequence for evil behavior , whereas liberals want to save EVERYBODY from EVER having a consequence to evil behavior, UNLESS of course it is a white male, then they will set their ideals aside to bash him like a fetus in the womb till he is dead.
They are right you cannot compare murder(abortion) to properly disciplining your child, because with abortion your child ALWAYS ends up DEAD, and with Proper discipline(spanking) they well...........live and turn out to be decent human beings and NOT liberals!

We could ask why the people who demonize parents who choose to abort their children because they know they can't take care of them condone cuts in social services that would help poor people care for their children or potential adoptive parents find adoptees? Why do those who demonize social workers for not taking children immediately from questionable homes condone cutting funds for foster homes and NIMBY having specialized homes in their neighborhoods?

They are the same issue! Harming your child is the some! If you spank, some believe it causes harm, and if you kill your child, "abort it" then you definately cause harm! Yes they are on 2 different levels, but why would it be ok to kill your child, but not punish or correct them! The difference is that people don't care until it looks like a baby! And then it is all cute, instead of some "problem" People don't want to deal with! I am pro choice, I think everyone should have the choice NOT to have sex, not the choice to kill a child!!

Same lack of sense it makes for people to get up in arms about the way animals are treated, yet they are quick to treat people any kind of way and overlook human suffering in America and abroad. Some of the same people who scream for animal rights are some of the same ones spitting on other people who are picketing for equal rights and fair treatment.

I would image that if you take a step back you would realize that these are two completely different issues. And you would also realize there are many people who approve of both spanking and abortion, but you would likely find many people who supported one but not the other.

Your question is like asking how a person could denounce abortion, but support war or capital punishment.

I can provide you with my opinion (which you are asking for here) once you provide the details around the study that proves all parents who do not condone spanking do believe in abortion.

Spanking children can not be compared to abortion. Once is used as a method of discipline to help the child understand or grow, and can be used in error or as abuse. Abortion has nothing to do with discipline and everything to do with life choices be they personal choices which put people in a position that make abortion an option and then the moral decisions that come with it.

Try a more specific question next time.

(I have many beliefs in all of these areas and are very situation specific. I just get frustrated when I feel people are using high focus topics to get people upset with each other for no other reason than to watch)
